SoFurry's AUP is Buttz

Hey, you like sarcastic assholes? Because you can see me being one all over SF's banning of cubs!!
Check it out here, and look up my screenname. There are some real dummies around, equating them to actual child porn. You can't stop the cub-ban train, but you can try to enjoy the ride. Even this place's admin,

tried to save face in front of me. Like, dude, we get it, you're friends with the sexy orca on the other site who wants to save his day-job, but I ain't buying anything at face value, because when you do that, you let idiots like the professional Star Wars critics spin Rotten Tomatoes ratings to say that directors like Rian Johnson are a genius just because of trying to subvert expectations.
I could shit on the floor like GG Allin, and sure, it would subvert expectations, alright. But it would, like him, get me arrested.

I'm preparing to upload this one on SF;

A dyeing planet where cubs are no longer being born to replenish the population.

Here's that posting I mentioned. And it already appears in their gallery.

HAH! That is brill. You know, I kind of am mulling around the idea of doing a faux autobiography on Toumal, when the site started out as Yiffstar, to when it was SoFurry (and dead of activity) to the chain of events that lead to his changeup on May 11 (where he's shooting himself in the foot even further). But I don't have enough research on it quite yet. He obviously didn't maintain that site by himself, he's definitely got a few friends. One of them just happened to probably be in on the direction of the site when he was trying to look good in front of a very proactive SJW. He was wrong when he said cubs were banned, so Toumal changed it to so he was right. Anyways, I'm a crackpot enough, so I want a story on it hosted by them to cement it in concrete.

Sounds like a winner.

BTW, I got another one prepared for SF. I'm gonna post it on here first.

I don't like the change, and said so. I'm just realistic. I know - all too well - how tough running a furry site can be, especially if it's not your day job. Toumal's done it for fifteen years; longer than me. A lot of things can change in that time in your personal life - things which make you reconsider what hills you want to die on, and how much you have to lose (and remember, the original Yiffstar didn't host art at all - cub or otherwise).

As you say, he may have stepped back from super-active management of the site, but he's still responsible; he might feel that those actually running the site administratively from day to day should have more say over how it's run. Once you've made an announcement like that, it's unlikely to be reversed anytime soon.

Want to make a difference? Grab some friends and start your own site, with cub hookers and blackjack.

Disk is relatively cheap, for what you need when starting up. LeaseWeb has 4x1TB for less than a Euro a day, and that's not even a special deal - to be honest, it's ridiculously OP for what you need when starting up, an SSD-based VPS would probably be more useful. They have those too; we use the smallest in VA, it serves thumbnails and site images for most of the East Coast.

Heck, you could get started with AWS free tier (once you actually need a server) and you get a micro instance, 5GB storage, and 15GB out + 50GB CDN transfer out free for a year.

Just don't get locked in with their object storage and APIs, as bandwidth gets expensive quickly, and it's what you'll end up needing most if you get successful with an art site. (I always thought it was weird how Furry Network went that route, but maybe it's what they were used to.)

Green, you know what... you really are OK. Sounds like the keys to the kingdom here, when we get down to it.

You know what they say - whosoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child, shall not enter it. (There was also some stuff in there about immorality, but whatever...)

It was so Crazy and Insane SoFurry did that in the first place.
