Solo: a Star Wars story (no big spoiler review )

Ok, just back from watching Solo: a Star Wars story.

As a die-hard fan of star wars, i could not miss to watch it on the first chance for me. So here few general no-spoiler comments from the movie.

Generally speaking I enjoyed the movie. The plot is well-paced while giving some breath here and there but generally speaking there was no "useless" part (like the whole casino scene in Star Wars VIII). There was possibly one point where the plot added an extra creature that was sorta useless in my opinion and a relatively useful battle scene that fit but was rightfully not dragged too long.

Actors played the characters very well in my opinion.
Only "mild" one was possibly the actor playing Han Solo himself: did not threw too much "unexpected" behavior to likely avoid mistakes.

The movie (like Rogue One) contain a number of cameos (even just spoken-ones or mentions) that only a true fans of the whole Star Wars univers can get.

Two (spoiler, will not detail them) final scenes truly make the whole movie shine:

*** a final confrontation that will make every old fan of star wars rejoice

*** a super-spoiler ending revelation that was a mind-blowing orgasm for everyone who follow the animated series.

If you're a fan of one of such (old trilogy and/or animated series) you could possibly love the movie just for that specific scene i mentioned.

I only hope they explain that "super spoiler" in an eventual follow-up movie.
I know, we know why from one of the animated productions, but in my opinion this particular thing needs to be shown in a movie.

The movie as such is fine.
It showed me things I wanted to see and thus I had fun with it.
In my opinion it is way more enjoyable than episode VIII.
Compared with Rogue One I liked that one a bit better. Nevertheless Solo is definitely a fun movie and I am looking forward to watching all 10 Star Wars movie at the end of the year on DVD. (No "DVD is out" comments necessary. I've heard them all already.)

I was especially thrilled for that! While the animated series had issues of early simple themes, both grew uo in very fine star wars stories (including Rebels). While so far we received hints in Rogue One, this is  full connection and recognition! It is quite likely on my point of view they are going to make some sort of continuation (ESPECIALLY since it leave a prominent character of this movie still with a undefined destiniy, and it needs a clarification over the link-relationship with Han). If they are bold and smart they are going to make this superspoiler character the main protagonist of the next movie. Or someone elde facing him.

I'm actually hoping for this particular "someone else". Heheh.
But if I say now who I mean it would be too easy for everyone to think of who the spoiler character is. So I will keep my mouth shut.
I may be an evil cal villain, but I am certainly no one to spoil a good movie surprise. Heheheh.

But either way, I definitely agree with you that some things should be further explored.

What angers me a bit is that this movie received a lot of hate before it was even released.
It really doesn't deserve it.
Solo is a good movie and an entertaining one.
And, what is equally important, it always stays respectful to the movies and their characters that came before.
That was my greatest problem with episode VIII.

Heheh, it's a bit surprising to me that I am actually enjoying the anthology movies more than the new trilogy. At least so far.
