Testing out Twitter

To see if it's a den of Russian spy bots, deep state agents, deplorables, and sjws.

I only have a few people I follow, and so far I haven't seen anything beyond the pale from other sites and chats I've been apart of.

Twitter even blocks vulgar language without my input.  Have to choose to view it even beyond the personal settings.

Having a little trouble with following threads and how all chained together for conversations, so that's an annoying aspect.

Anyone have any thoughts or warnings about Twitter experiences?

I really only use it to follow WWE updates and artists that refuse to pay elsewhere.  otherwise I really don't like it.

I really don't like either. I'm only on there only to scope out artists.

I mostly use mine for looking at cute animal pics, sharing pics of my cute animals, and memes.

You jest, but yes, actually, those are like 2/3 of the "people" on twitter.
But if you expect the garbage then you can handle it.

You have to be careful to try not to type out some unique specific products or media names because that attracts bots & butt-mad fanatics. (like I mentioned I wasn't fully aware of Sonic Mania, then dozens of random weirdos started replying & retweeting with snobby 4th grader level insults.)
Other cases are store bots that watch & reply if you mention product names, those are a bit annoying.

The way around that most of the time is to intentionally misspell or elude to the names, since bots & twitters random user subject feed can't make sense out of those.

But there's many artists, especially from non-western countries that post there, so it better than trying to figure out art sites that aren't English based.

Thanks for the tips.  I can see how data mining and advertising can get a little crazy there.

Directe pm can't be used unless both parties follow each other.

Twitter is good for looking up new porn artists and if you want to, go rolling around in the political mud.
Mastodon looks like a good place to chat and seems to be less about commercial promotion then
Twitter. The only issue there is the user base is quite small at the moment, but that could change.
The major advantage of that over Twitter is, you can post anything you want as long as your instance
doesn't have rules against it.

google mastodon.social if you want to give it a look, I'm personally done with Twitter drama and will
only use the account for porn now.
