Making Friends

I'd like to make some new friends!

What's the best way to go about it? Especially local friends.

Alternately, since Pounced.org is shutting down forever, are there any dating sites that work for you guys? -o-

Have you looked for a local group to hang out with? Local fur meets? I know of a few in So-cal, and I can easily be your friend in Phoenix n.n

I would say Ferzu, but it's slammed full of SJWs and cub haters.

But yeah, Facebook may work if you want to find a local fur group.

I've met some good people through random Meetup.com event groups.  Just look for stuff in your area that involves something you're interested in and you already have something in common with those people.

For dating sites, from my experience people tend to be picky on those and look for a scheme.
It feels like ordering a pizza from a menu, expecting certain criteria.

Local fur meets are probably your best bet. You can eventually get to know a possible mate there, too.

You can also join some Telegram Furry Groups and look for people from your region :3

The local Mississippi furries group is a bit too cool with Klan furries being involved in the group.

Have you tried looking at groups in college towns? Some university groups will let you join even if you're not a student at that college. I'm going to second Meetup.org for finding groups to hang out with. You might want to look outside of the fandom for people that have connected hobbies to yours. Groups that like Art or draw for fun might be a key opportunity and you don't have to mention being a furry if you don't wan't too. Another option and one that I would look into, if I was living in your area, is meetup groups for political views you agree with or active groups for things like gay rights (note I know you're straight I'm just trying to find people that are going to be more receptive and not flat out KKK members).

Unitarian universalist churches are hotbeds of love and acceptance. Even if you're an Atheist like me, you can find believers and heathens are all welcome there and mix with religions of all kinds. If you are of the religious persuasion, you can still hang with Atheists groups. I can't speak for all of the people in that last subset but, as an Atheist myself, I don't bring up or push the issue unless pushed against. I guess what I'm getting at is, be open to finding people outside of the fandom that might be in the fandom. As apposed to finding people in the fandom that might be good outside of it.

TL;DR find some people outside of the fandom that might accept you as furry and you might find someone in the fandom anyways.

Typically I've found the easiest/best way is to find a Telegram/Discord group dedicated to furs in your state. There are usually several catered to specific areas and you're bound to find people there ^^

The local telegram group for the state is a bit too friendly with Klan Furries for me. I had to leave. ~_~

Ahhh, in that case I've heard of a variety of people using social media like Twitter and FaceBook to meet other furries. Twitter in particular seems to have a large community on it ^^

Twitter has been a great way in personal experience, both for finding locals and as far as dating furs.
