Watches

Ya ever done this before?

Ya stumble across something, and think "This is great!" and click the watch button.

So over the next few weeks you're seeing new stuff from the artist and then nothing.
You don't really think about it, then you realize it's been over a year.
It's as if they've they've been kidnapped by aliens or something.

Oh, way too many times over the years. I can think of a lot of artists whose work I really admire who seems to have quietly vanished into the night.

Some still owe me art, too.

Yes.
Or they post a string of spectacular stuff, so I watch them, then they follow it with Sonic, TMNT or MLP crap >_<

Yeah. I guess it's because the artist loses interest, or perhaps was scared away by some of the drama storms that happens around here from time to time.

Way too many times. I have this theory that most people have a 5-10 year run with the fandom. Then marriage, jobs, a real art or writing gig, or just changing interests. Besides, it's WORK grinding out stuff week after week for years......
Ask me how I know.....now, if you'll excuse me, I haven't seen the new 'Tina' yet, and I don't want to disappoint....
Seriously, there are people like Fisk, who went Patreon, Vendetta, who just disappeared, and Eric Schwartz, who is just getting older.....

Or in the case of this greymuzzle (and others I spoke to), this happens....

Well yeah, there's that...and thanks for the heads up on a place where I can take my writing that isn't a furry site.
Clearly, I've taken my hits for being on SoFurry. but, in the end, the relationships I've made justify the hassles. Otherwise, I haven't had to endure that much drama. I don't game, I'm not in a furry relationship, and I'm not an artist.

Car club ten to have a similar life cycle, yet I've been in the Miata club for 23 years; the BMW CCA for more than 30. We joke that it's like the Roach Motel- you check in, but you can't check out- or the Hotel California- you can check out any time you like, but you may never leave.

I think artist are like ppl that buy cars... They come in droves showing off all the nice stuff and they get no kickers or takers and they ween themselves out to other places... and start over again... or burn out or life calls...

It cost money to be an artist supplies time and making people happy.  I am by no means an artist.. I am not a fursuiter, nor can  I dedicate 24/7 to the interweb..

But what I see and those that post their art and talents, no matter how experienced they are.. I enjoy it because they chose to share it.
I wish I could throw a pond of money into the bake sale to buy tablets markers paper or whatever,, for every artist I know.. but I have eight kids!   It is expensive, so I don't have disposable income  to give... (Would love to one day. ;) )

I do the best thing I can do for what I have.. Be a true fan and love what you see and support them as best you can,,  by encouragement, or boost them or spread the word, be a follower.. etc..

That's my opinion.. buy yeah I wonder where some of older artist are,,

I watch quite a number of artists who haven't posted anything in a long time...or artists who have cleaned out their galleries. But I still keep them on my watch list.

I go for periods of time myself when I don't post anything. I get busy with projects and other things and don't have time.
And, I would rather post fewer things that are really good, as opposed to posting things nearly everyday that are rush-jobs and look it...I'm more into quality than into quantity.
