Hi, folks!
Right, so I've had some thoughts brewing about commission work over the past several weeks, and while I don't have the details fully hashed-out yet, I did want to go ahead and make a statement about it so that people know about it.
Due to changes and shifts in my IRL life (which aren't necessarily bad, so don't worry!), I'm going to have to be more selective about the commissions I agree to take from now on. I'd never wanted to do this in the past, mainly because holy hell, I am really bad at telling people "no". :P But, I've finally come to the conclusion that it's necessary.
I'll go into more detail about this in another journal later on, but I'm basically going to be taking commissions on an application basis. That is to say: you'll tell me the details of what it is you're after, and then I'll tell you yes or no on the project. Now, that's the same as what I've always done, except for the part where (through no fault of yours, I promise) you'll stand a higher chance of being told "no", just out of necessity.
Like I said, I'll go into more detail later. Just wanted to put this out to y'all so you'd know!
NOTE: If I have already agreed to do a project with you prior to today, this doesn't affect that at all. Everything for said project stays just the same as we agreed.
OTHER NOTE: I won't go into detail, but these changes have a lot to do with my well-being, so I promise they are are not being made frivolously.
