Good Bye Andy

Its Sad for me to say that

is dead,
2 nights ago, I really wanted to know what had happened. So I dug through my PM's, Since I never delete PM, I still had the paypal address that he gave me to pay him for the commission he did right before he disappeared. I went to paypal and it gave me his name. I looked up His Name, Miguel Estrugo, and Found his wiki Fur page which had just been updated March 29th 2018.

It would appear one month after he disappeared he was found dead in his apartment.
Andy was one of the first people to make me feel welcomed to the community when I first joined 7 years ago, and he was one of the first people I commissioned to draw Joe Muck.
I've been missing him for the last 6 years, now I will miss him forever.

A synopsis of his Biography:
Miguel Estrugo was born in Spain, and had four brothers. Due to his father's job (a Bank manager), he had to travel often, he lived in Panamá, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and the U.S. He had to get back to Spain, where in 1999 during Christmas Eve, his father suddenly died. Miguel's passion was the comics and cartoons, so he traveled again to the U.S. and he worked in the World Trade Center until that tragic day, September 11, 2001. Again, he went back to Spain where he took care of his mother, who died of cancer after a year. He traveled again to Chile, and founded a communications Company. The lack of clients and bad decisions, depressed him. Since he always smiled and was apparently happy, nobody suspected about his fate: he was found dead in his apartment in may 28, 2011. He was 38 years old.

I agree wholeheartedly.   unfortunately I'm just a musician, though I'm sure I could capture his arts spirits in a song. I dunno what I could do otherwise ^^;

That explains allot. On March 2011 I was going to commission a comic from him, but he never responded to finalize it.

I lost my Maternal Grandfather sixteen days before then. Suddenly, I should say, after what seemed like a routine heart bypass surgery.

Did they ever find out what happened to Miguel?

It just says "Found dead in apartment" but if you take into consideration what it was talking about Depression and mentioned all the shit he put up with in his life, its not hard to conclude it was suicide. Especially when he was very young...

Then I remember who was he, I knew him with another nickname (Artie Roo), since the days when the VCL was the biggest furry artwork gallery. Rest in peace.

This is disappointing....been watching him for years...he had a very unique style.

Reads...wait 2011?  That's around when the last time I chatted with him....oh geez, I wonder what happened.Probably on Yahoo so I have no way to see when exactly...ugh.

I had looked for details on Andy some years back but never found anything under his real name. At least someone knew and updated the wikifur page so we all know.

Honestly a horrible tragedy made even mote bitter by how long it took us to find out. I am so sorry he was that dapressed.

I think what's really sad is after 7 years we're just now finding this out.  

I wasn't quite sure who he was until I saw his work then it all came flooding back from the VCL days.

Real sorry he went at such a young age

passing away was more than a year before I even joined IB or any other furry site.
Not knowing of his account until today, I'm just now seeing characters and artwork in his gallery I really like.

He was last on FurryMUCK shortly after midnight on 5/25/11 and he was found dead in his apartment on the 28th, which means he very likely committed suicide either while he was on FurryMUCK or shortly after signing off for the last time.
