Need help

I was wondering if someone could give me some help. As you can see I've been doing sketches lately. I wanna try to do Sonic and Tails. Is there anyone that can give me some pointers on how to draw those two? I can do Sonic's head. Tails is a little more trickier for me. I can't get Sonic's body right yet. Having trouble getting the arms and hands right. If someone could maybe give me a short tutorial I would be very appreciative.

I find that always having a reference image by my side helps me

says, having a ref is always a good thing. Other than that, practice is really the best way to improve really. Personally, I like to do things very messy to build proportion and pose and then add details after. Also, I am curious. Which Sonic and Tails are you trying to draw? I mean, from which game/series cause they do have a lot of different design over the years.

Another quick question do you guys find it easier to draw on the computer or hand drawing?

I prefer digital, but It depend for what. For sketches, I think both are pretty good. But, when you start doing color, shadows and stuff, computer have a lot of thing that you can use to adjust those without having to redo the whole thing. But, you need a tablet. A mouse will not only be harder to draw with, but it's also very bad for the wrist.

If you are starting though, I would suggest hand drawing sketch cause it feel more natural.

Hehe, no problem. Nice to meet you too ^^. My tablet is a an Intuos I think, from wacom. But, tbh, I choose this one cause there was a sell on it. As long as it works fine, I think that's all that matter. There is some button on it but I never use them cause there is some shortcut that you need the keyboard for anyway.

Other than that, I use photoshop cause I already knew how to use it but there is other programs that do the job as well.

Hehe, glad to hear your having fun cause that's what important! Another thing I like to do is to watch some speedpaint on Youtube or stream on Picarto. It help me to get motivated and sometime you can learn a trick or two as to how they do certain shapes.
