Windows 10 Update Error Fix

All this does is clear the updates folder so make sure the update is installed before you wipe the folder.

_______________________________________

1

Check to see if the update has been installed

Go to settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View installed update History.

It should show as installed if it doesn't then do this anyway and it should re-download it.

2

Go to This Pc> right click local disk C: > Disk clean-up>clean up system files> tick windows updates and ok (wait until its done)

3

Now Open Notepad and copy and paste this in

" taskkill /f /fi "SERVICES eq wuauserv"
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
rmdir C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore
rmdir C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

Now go to File>Save As
Name it Update fix.bat
Save type > All Files

Now where you saved it
" right click on it and run as administrator
do this about 3 or 4 times just to make sure it worked as it only takes a few seconds.

4

Go to This Pc> Local disk C: >Windows>

Delete the folders SoftwareDistribution and SoftwareDistribution.old

Say yes to all.

When it says The action can't be completed just skip all and now restart

You should be all up to date now when you check for updates =3

Let me know if this has worked for you

Also I recommend

Change p2p Updates off as it uses your Internet to upload updates to people.

" Start>settings>Update&security>Windows Update> Advance options>>Delivery Optimisation>Allow Downloads From Other Pc's> Turn off

that.. fix... some how torpedoed my moms PC XD im not sure HOW exactly...but her computers allways been a little...weird... those cammands SHOUDLENT effect anything but now shes stuck in an infinite update loop and her pc cant find recovery points sooo... time to back up her files and reinstall windows yaaay XD

im sure this fix works for some issues but if your haveing an issue were it goes to update and reezes and is forced to revert to an erlyer version i would not recommend trying this out.

The only thing this does and all the steps really are the same thing just different ways of doing it is clear the updates folder of files not been used.

Sounds like your mothers Pc has more issues than this I'm afraid but like you said a nice clean install will fix it all ^_^

If I could I'd do it for you i love installing a fresh system gives me something to do for 30-50 mins =3

But I'm sorry you are having this trouble x

oh im not blameing you XD I took a look at what the bat file actuals DOES it should NOT have caused this issue.. but it was fine before i ran the file and fucked up right after i ran it... that being SAID... my mothers PC was set up by gateway and has been SUPER weird...from day one...so im going to be a lot more comfortable with it after resetting it anyway i just need to recover her files first.

lol

in the end this is probobly for the best
