Cats must have some default like root language, I recognize that "mer'rah!" sound of the cat waking up as like "oh hi, friend" or such.
Maybe hit up a goodwill or something if you need some bigger clothes drawers or shelves? Though some hardware/home improvement stores sometimes sell build-it-yourself kits for not too bad prices, but they tend to need some structural reinforcement. I'm not really sure if you need to be thrifty though.
Though yeah, thanks, nice to know there's artists with less than elite looking homes are out there. My workstation is far worse, just a monitor, PC, TV, 'puter, ancient scanner & printer on a partly rebuilt desk XD
I've been sorting stuff but lack appropriate places too, but the harder part is deciding on association sorting (which things go where, which things near what related things) but it helps a lot when needing to find things gets to be a pain.
Sculpey, I still have some of those I never opened from ages ago XD I tried to make stuff like action figures too, but didn't go well. Never found some ball-joint pin things. There's 3D printers now but eh, not sure if I can figure that stuff anytime soon.
But yeah, you might need some more home decor there. Something about it helps with mood & imagination.
