Yeah, but people will try. If someone doesn't use friends only content they'll usually put that on their profile. But you'd probably have to ask someone with that how effective it actually is.

Well i know on ib friend requests allow access to hidden pics if set to friend only so that might be why. .or they like ya

The matter is the same, if some content is hidden for "friends only", why do they think they can be a "friend" eventhough they never talked to me or commented a drawing ? :/ Isn't it completely stupid ? If content is hidden it's precisely to don't show to everyone

XD I already consider you as a "friend" here ;)
Cause we visited eachother profile and art, we exchanged a lot and you also used to comment a lot my art ^^
well we "know" eachother, so of course it would be "normal" to make a "friend request".

I did that once, randomly sent a friend request. It was mainly to get their attention, and see if they actually wanted to be friends, perhaps creative partners. Chances are they're just fans that are hoping for the chance to get to know you better.

In more simple terms, "Notice me Sempai!"

sending a friend request eventhought you are a perfect stranger (never a fave, never a comment) it's taking the risk in that case to just be ignored ^^

It's a risk, yeah, but a less public one. Not everyone has the confidence to openly approach someone, plus you could make the argument that since we deal in smut that it's even more awkward for a stranger to approach us. So a friend request is a polite little poke to see if you're even interested in talking.

I have had people who add me as a friend out of the blue here on Inkbunny... Most of the time it is to try to make a gateway to eventually build up the nerve to speak to me. Like, that is how they check to see how friendly I am by sending a request and if I accept or not. And from there, once they see I accept, usually they try to either befriend me or sit there and keep building up the nerves to eventually talk to me.

Happen to me enough times and I have met great people like that. :3

You shouldn't look at it as that. I get where you are coming from... and from reading your other comments (my internet was slow and slowly loading the page). The only thing you can really do is try to make a journal that is always on top that says 'Do not randomly send friend request unless...' If it annoys you that much. I know some people try to use it to break barriers, some sneaky people DO try being friends with an artist to get free art from them... But these people, from what I've noticed, tend to be more direct. Very rarely would they be meekful and silently send a friend request. They tend to be more in your face, overly friendly type (that's just my personal experience with it).

Usually people intend to try make friends along with being in the fandom, sometimes they just want to be friendly and try boost their skills of communications, OTHERS intend to be creepy or such wanting to focus on being perverted to others which is quite common. On my hand I usually send friend requests to others because I see potential of having friendship along with getting along being friends of having things in common, not just for randomness. But I usually stay picky on WHO Should I accept friend requests, like check out their profiles and see have any contents on their profiles.

Erh...I Mean as for me Sorry I sent a friend request long ago, I was hoping we could be friends of being art buddies and possibly rp buddies, because I am a fan of your works and such, QvQ Thanks to Dash I became a fan~ lol I Hope we can walk baby steps to become friends >w<

So to answer after 5 months (^^" sorry...)
I think you are right, I sure was too rough I guess. People see into it a chance to start talking while I was considering it was supposed to work the opposite way : first you talk and then friend request. But with that post and all your responses, I get to see it wasn't the same point of view for everybody so... Yea I guess I was too rough and now I feel stupid and sorry about that ^^"
It may even seem mean for someone (like you?) who say he likes my art and is following for a long time. I'm actually sooo grateful for this... I mean I'm not even that good and still have to progress a lot (T. T) SO when I see a new person is" watching mr" or putting a fav on a draw I feel so happy! It's really priceless. And I thank you for that *respectful bow* ^^

I only friended you because I love making friends with people I've heard about >w<

Plus, I would love to see what artwork you could make of my OCs, but sadly I don't use money on ANY of my accounts, so I'm broke ;w;
