Project Updades I guess...

by
I've been awfuly busy lately working on a whole bunch of stuff, some of which you might have seen in my streams. But many of them are hopeless endevors and will be scrapped. Here is a list of some of the major projects I've been working on:

MLP Secret Episode 1 (That walk animation of Twilight).
  Status: Abandoned.
Reason: Wont be able to find voice actors. Too big to keep up.

Filly Fluttershy Facial.
  Status: On Hold.
Reason: Taking a break from animation for a while.

Le Petit Four (Cupcakes 2) Movie.
  Status: Abandoned.
Reason: Wont be able to find voice actors. Too big to keep up.

Le Petit Four Comic.
  Status: Pending.
Reason: In leu of the movie being hopeless, I'll just have to try doing a comic instead.

Hush Now Remix Song.
  Status: Abandoned.
Reason: Lack of skill at making remixes.

If anyone wants to try and help me get any of these projects back on track, feel free, I'm listening.

Are voices really necessarily? It shouldn't really stop anyone making great Twilight flash porn.

I really wanted those to be as much like the show as possible. They just wouldnt be good enough if you had to read everything in subtitles...

Well, as far as VAs, you know me (though I'm more of a personality-ringer for Twilight than a dead ringer) and I know Rinachan, though I don't think I've actually asked about purely NSFW work... I'm kind of slow with lines and need to be prodded every so often to dub them.

As for animations, well ... you know me, I'm all up in my own and busy... but not too busy to poke at something and help, especially with hands-on type work. For collaborating, I'd be managing the both of us strictly to meet dual deadlines of about mid-2012. My opinion has always been: getting work done is better than a 15-20% incomplete prototype.

In fact, I keep a number of animators in my Skype or email just for the exact reason of going "Agh! I'm stuck!" or "Can I get your crit on this?" ... You can really only get animation crit from other animators because regular people have NO IDEA how to tell you to fix shit. They can tell you it's terrible, but not how to fix it.. They have images in their head, but no way to telepathically beam them into your mind.

Actually, I looked over your FLAs and you have a lot more potential than you think. You're just running aground on that one old problem: not enough time, no remuneration (nobody's paying you and it's all a learning exercise), and you feel like it's never enough. You have to have a couple clear goals and a stopping point, IMHO. I think learning to start small was my biggest challenge and the second one was NEVER letting the fanbase get the start and end of me.

They may not want the best from you. Sometimes, they only want the best from your art.

And my final advice is this: sometime a break is important and it's best to let sleeping dogs lie or kill your darlings and let them stay dead. There will always be other projects. There may not always be a happy and sane you.

I heard some of you voice acting on soundcloud and its really good, you really sounded alot like Twilight at some points. I would love it if you could do some acting for my mlp secret episode if I could also find someone to do Rainbow Dash.

As for the animation, I could probobly do most of the work myself, It would just take like, 8 months to do, which is another reason I may abandon the project. I'm just not sure if I can hold up a project for that long.

I know how it is ... and I remember that last flash Z0ne did, the Wakfu one, took around 9 months. If you want to do quality, it takes time. Oh, I wish I was a beginning artist who didn't care about poor lipsyncing or non-perfect timing, like Tiarawhy. >.O Speed has it...

Well, if you let another artist help, it can halve development time and keep you focused. I wouldn't be opposed to a collaboration. At that point, it might be a question of: do you want to release it for free or do you want to distribute it via a system like TJA to recover/refund your time? http://www.jabarchives.com/store/home.php?cat=3

The stuff I'm good at is inking and coloring, though that's less involved with tweens are stuff, it's more about trial and error. I can certainly help with whatever you need done; I've probably done it before and have some idea to pull it off. You'll just need a detailed document about what needs done. I'm good at setting up layers, the symbols themselves and prepping it for animation, it's the timing part that slays me or having to delete good, but faulty, work.

I could probobly handle the animation on my own if I had a teacher to show me how to do it right and to motivate me to keep working on it. I dont expect to get any money from this project aside from mabie some donations (Which I will share with you). Working as a team would definatly speed things up a bit as you could help with inking, coloring and stuff. And I'll handle scene layout and animation, along with writing and managing stuff like dialogue. Then the only problem would be finding a VA for Rainbow Dash. I doubt I could put up a casting call on EQD since this is an adult animation...

How much do you know about Actionscript btw?

Ableton Live 8, I got some lessons from another music composer on how to use the software but actually putting it to use is still my own challenge. I offer that person art critique and instant feedback for those, though I feel like I am teaching less than what I get in return.

I've been composing, creating, modifying, synthesizing, mixing, remixing and DJing for about 16 years now. I've got a little experience doing just about anything and have really put forth a great deal of time and effort into learning and furthering myself in the field. As far as musical manipulation programs go they're all based around the same concepts. Cubase is good however its based more around the creating of synths much like that of Reason. As far as music production goes every has their own preference as to what program they are most comfortable with using. FOr instance I was taught in college on Digital Performer Pro and ProTools for mac, however, I was just not comfortable with their interface. I've dabbled a small bit in all of the programs and found that Sonar Producer Edition 8.5 was the one I was most comfortable using, thus I use that one. There is no such thing as X program is better than Y program because once you learn all of their capabilities they are all at heart the very same. As far as ripping the vocals out of things well That is indeed a challenge for many of us artists and "remixer" peoples. I haven't received any word from this person you're mentioning yet but I'd be glad to offer any advice or suggestions if he contacts me ^^ and I thank you for pointing him in my direction, I always like to hear from other artists ^^

If I could do any of the character's voices, I would totally help you out.  But I've got a deep-ish guy voice and no experience with sound editing.   I do sing sometimes, so I have a bit of a range and can change my voice quality a little, but that's about it.

as for voice actors... I'm pretty sure you already know what I'm going to say on that subject. but I'll give you a little hint.  she's on your friends list.  I'd tell you the answer but I've been told i work in mysterious ways

Maybe you could edit clips of the characters talking à la ZONE as a substitute for voice actors?

Nice to ear you are making steps in remixes too. About voices only we can do is make publicity everywhere.

Awwwww crap. Well, I guess it's hard to find voice actresses to put voices for such thing. In the end I actually preffer to see a comic rather than a movie. If you need anything man, let me know! I can't wait to start seeing progress being made on it <3 I can't tahnk you hard enough, thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!!!

And yes, I am more than willing to help you with the comic. If you want I can do Rarity's hair. I am good at drawing it, I've done a lot of it. I am good at inking as well, so I am at your complete disposition. Just go ahead and ask me, I'm easy to reach.

Oh, and if I can say something man, you don't need voice actresses if you convey the emotions through expressions, or even subtitles. It's not the first time that has been done. Having no VA's is not an obstacle for you to make an awesome movie. There's been a lot of Cupcakes movies without VA's that are pretty cool.

If you want to chat about it more privately, I have a skype account -  Jamesy_Corck

Send me an invite and we can chat over there. I also will keep an eye on your streams for the future!
