I have two Sonic OC characters that badly need a redesign, and I have far too many ideas that I can't settle on. So I'm going to leave it to fate, and see what others think. They were originally a pair of twins/sibling hedgehogs, but I feel like hedgehog OCs are so common that their original concept just become kind of...bluh. I don't want to fall into that redundancy of always having hedgehog OCs, and while I adore those, I want to expand my species.
So the question is, what now? I have a few species in mind, that I like a lot and want to do in my own interpretation of what they'd look like as a Mobian. Plus I don't want to stray too far from my original bios. I started off with them being Spike and Widget, a boy and a girl, twelve years old, and twins. Spike is very quiet, bold but reclusive in nature, is skilled in throwing darts and is very protective of his sister. Widget is into tech and gymnastics and is the more outgoing of the two, and speaks for her brother most of the time.
My question is, what species, and should I stick with them being twins, or just big brother/little sister?(If I go with an egg species, I'll go with them not being twins) And I do plan on making them older, probably in their later teens for more flexibility in character development. I like the idea of opossums, iguanas, cockatoos(citron crested) and ferrets, but I'm tied, artblocked, and would like to hear some opinions.
