Life Update (February 2018)

Hello friends, I wrote this journal with the help of a voice-to-text program, it might sound wonky because of that D: But here we go:

3 months ago I wrote a journal talking about my tenosynovitis/tendonitis. And 3 weeks ago I forced my wrist again :/ I completed 3 months of treatment that my doctor had recommended, but I misjudged my own conditions and didn't realize I wasn't ok yet.

It really sucks. During these last weeks I've been recovering again, in hopes of being just a small problem. That's why it took me long to write a journal about this again, I thought it wouldn't be needed.

To avoid that this happens again I have decided to stop playing games for a long time so I can heal fully, and not suffer from this any time soon. The only things I've been playing are card games like Hearthstone because it doesn't require much physical effort.

I will take at least two more weeks of resting before I get back to art making, and when I do, I will focus on finishing the remaining commissions. I really can't afford going through this again. Not being able to draw is really suffocating for an artist, I am a bit hyperactive and not being able to do the things I loved slowly sucks out the joy of you.

I've also decided to make some big changes after this. For example I was already stretching my body daily but my diet didn't change much since the first event and I guess this time I really need to improve the quality my diet and
be healthier, because I think this might be the lowest that my health has ever reached, and this is something worth paying attention to. The wrists aren't the only problems I got.

And for my work with art, I will end up making some changes as well, mostly because I was feeling burned out and frustrated about almost everything, and I wasn't having much fun like before. I even decided to increase my prices to see if that would make me forget about it and feel more satisfied, but it didn't work that way.

"Change" is becoming my word for 2018, and only with effort I'll be able to become healthier and happier like I wish to.

I hope you guys understand and can support me through this!

Also, I am sorry for being absent from the internet in general during this. I'm feeling really awful and a bit depressed now but I know I will be able to draw again and recover like last time, but this time I won't mess up and force my hands a third time. Sorry friends I that haven't been checking notifications too, but I will catch up eventually ;-;

Thank you for reading this journal and for understanding! I really need this rest right now if I want to keep making art for the years to come ;w; See you soon with new art! I should be back in 2 weeks if the treatment goes fine!

A hug from me, Gabe, Joel and Daniel. <3

Take your time, we understand that stuff like this happens, and we wouldn't want you to elevate the problem just so you can get art and stuff done.

I hope you feel better emotionally and physically soon, and can enjoy your passions again, without having to jeopardize your health in the process.

Good luck on your treatments, and here's to big changes for the better in 2018!

Take your time to recover. Wrist pain is awful.

A wrist brace could help to keep it still when doing things so you use your elbow and shoulder to move your arm as you should. Seems silly that our wrists are the most flexible points outside of our shoulders yet they mess up if you use em too much. go fig. Get better though and don't let that depression get ya. It's for ya own good even if it keeps ya from doing what you like for abit. Can always binge once ya better.

Is it going to be worth a try to draw with your other hand out of boredom?

Who knows you might be ambidextrous ^-^

I hope your wrist recovers quickly and fully so that you can enjoy what you like fully again. Health is important, much more than net presence. Take care.

Yeah indeed, and a flexible elastic wrist support bandage could help a lot too :) especially after recovery in supporting the joint.
I use them from time to time couse of my work and they help a lot.

But first get well again Zeta and fix everything, so you can get new joy in drawing after you´re healed again :D
