More complicated than I expected.

by
I bought a fancy radio control model kit.

I sorted the parts bags, got my tools out, and worked on assembling it.

Four hours later, I finished step 10 in the manual, which put me on page 8 of 32. I've put more than 80 screws into it, most of which had to be threadlocked, about half of them with nuts. Two differentials, four leaf springs, a ladder frame chassis done.

I haven't even started the three-speed transmission or the electronics tray.

This is gonna take a while.

tamiya toyota tundra or hilux? does sound like a tamiya kit when you mentioned the 3 speed. i recently finished one of their 1/16 scale full option tank kits. welcome to the world of r/c kit building!

Tamiya Mountain Rider, which is the same mechanically as the Bruiser. An order of magnitude more complex than the Tundra or Hilux.

I'm not new to R/C kit building, but even the original RC-10 with its six-gear transmission wasn't anywhere near this complex.
