Random Question!

How do you guys like your porn arts/artists? Do you like them just to be purely smut or to have some fun to them or even long developed story arcs?

I personally on both my own art or others/artists to have some kind of comedy cuteness to them. The story driven ones are okay but they're not entirely my thing (cuz i have such a short attention span -w-' ) but i can still enjoy them if they can keep stuff interesting in not just the smutty bits but the character and funny bits.

heck, something silly can happen during the smuttyness that just gives it that much more..pesronality i guess.

what about you guys?

Honestly, stories are a nice seasoning, but isn't required. If the pic doesn't have a story, and I like it, I tend to make one up anyways

i more prefer ecchi and cute over porn. i can still appreciate an artist even tho they might draw smut a lot.

I like an artist that's always willing to try new things and keep it fresh and practice drawing things they havn't before, so that they keep progressing and improving their art style.

Stories can really enhance smut, especially when done in small ways. Large, complicated stories can be really cumbersome and limit the kinds of things you can draw, if you really care about sticking to that story.

The best way to do it, IMO, is to just have a bunch of your characters interact with each other in fun, sexy ways. With a little bit of dialogue. Maybe in response to asks or questions about those OCs, sometimes. Those cute little interactions really help build up an OC's personality, and form a neat little world in which all your OCs live and share some kind of fun story.

TL;DR - Don't worry about making a story to make a story, just have your OCs (or other characters you like) interact more often and spice it up with a little bit of dialogue every once in a while!

I rather my artist be themselves and do what makes them feel happy. If they are happy with their art, it shows and makes for better quality. When they try to please everyone it shows and it just goes down hill.

Personally I like a story in smut but i think the best way i've seen it done is more or less a nice situation and fun characters who have a setting behind them, an example would be

Angstrom

's buncest and magical realm. So pretty much that sorta silliness you spoke of in the setting, situation, and/or during sexual acts is my personal favorite type of smut.

I enjoy kinky stories (especially if they are funny)
But I also enjoy non story porn :3

And if an artists draws stuff other than porn, that is cool too.

Smut can be bland without any kind of story behind it. Characters without chemistry show in any medium, so why would art be any different? A bit of dialogue, of any kind, can make a single individual still of two people getting down and dirty 100% better and more impactful.

I'm a proponent of story. It doesn't have to be complex, of course, but as others have said, having standing personalities and histories makes it easier to get invested when the spunk starts spraying.

I prefer story. A build up and good narrative can turn average porn into something greater. Especially in situations that are supposed to be high emotion. If you barely know or aren't even attached to the characters, how are you supposed to care? I grant you, if you are just looking to beat one out, reading a story may not be your cup of tea, but if your patient, it can be quite nice.

I am a bit of a variety type of person myself. I love romance and some comedy can be nice. I tend to enjoy pictures that tell a story and sometimes I may in the mood to see a short or long story arc comics if I like the original characters. Mainly though what really pushes my buttons is seeing dialogue from characters that add to the explanation of how they got into the naughty scenario more often then not.

If I'm looking at porn, there's a reason for it, and it isn't to read about an anxty character's life.
If the porn comic is going to have a story, it needs to revolve around the porn. (Bit of RP and all that.)
I do enjoy a bit of the slapstick too. XD

A picture can be really hot on it's own, but what makes a picture truly great for me is when I know the personality of the characters and the world in which these characters live. It's one of the big reasons to why I love sonic porn so much, and when you throw in a good story combined with humor it becomes incredibly sexy for me. And of course it needs to have my kind of kinks in it. The reason to why I need to know the personality (and sometimes the world) is because then I can continue the story in my head.

For me, it's defintely both :D but it also depends on which characters in question, some I will prefer an explination to if it's sexual in nature, others I'd rather just make it smutty >:3
