What's happening this year

I've stagnated for a bit too long recently. Fortunately, my recent Brazil trip and a very productive discussion with my brother have shaken things up for me, and so I've decided to make changes to the way I work this year. The goal is to make art both more enjoyable and more sustainable an activity.

1. Splitting my SFW and NSFW art [DONE]
Both from a professional and personal standpoint, this needed to happen. I can't really tell family or friends what I do without being at least a little evasive, and that's saying nothing of potential professional contacts in the future. So I'm making it so looking for "Ethan Qix" online will turn up SFW results. If someone wants to check my more adult works, they'll still be able to by going to
SquidSushi
SquidSushi
, but at least they shouldn't just stumble upon it.

2. Having an actual workplace [IN PROGRESS]
There are coworking spaces I can use where I live. Right now, the one I'm interested in has no vacancy, but they should have some in February. Having a real workplace I need to go to, I need to get dressed for, and where I can meet people should improve my productivity significantly (not to mention allow me to socialize IRL).

3. Focusing my efforts on my webcomic Chimaera High [IN PROGRESS]
I've neglected my webcomic for too long in an attempt to make my Patreon Weeklies a source of revenue. This attempt, as far as money goes, is a complete failure. I've actually lost Patreon money over time, and I feel people (apart from a handful of loyal fans) are just not that interested in voting in my picture polls. What seemed like a good idea at the time (I was pretty proud of it !) revealed itself to be not so great in the long run.
By focusing back on my webcomic, and rebuilding my Patreon around it, I'm hoping the more consistent content will be appealing enough to make a living off it. To be blunt, I need a product to sell, and most successful Patreons have been built around recurring content such as comics, video series, etc. I'll still offer commissions and the like but it will become a more secondary activity. The Squid will get his own separate Patreon, where I might reestablish pictures as rewards.

Hopefully everything goes right. Wish me luck ^^

Hope you can achieve what you're aiming for ^^
The main reason I quit Patreon was the hack a while ago. My credit card number was stolen, so I'm not really confident on the site right now. I'd still support you if it wasn't for that.
