Probably gonna get a diffuser but I don't know what kinds of oils to get?? Anyone have recommendations or flavors/scents they would suggest to someone new to it? :O

Ooh, I do really like lavender! I'll have to check through some places and see what looks best. (My mom hates lavender, she'll walk by and be grossed out lmao)

While possibly an inappropriate place to ask, we've begun work again on them and should have some more stuff up soon in the next few days if all goes well!

Kami, I love stuff like this, there are so many combinations and things you can do with it. What kind of scents are you looking to do?Or environment you're looking to set up with the scents?

Hmm, I like sweet stuff like cake and bakery smells (not yeast but i doubt thats a scent but who knows lol). I'm also into like...outdoors smells. It's hard to get outdoor scents in here without bugs or it being too hot or too cold. I like natural scents but also ones that smell like candy or sweet sodas. I'm also all about relaxing and being lazy/chill with my friends. I'm also curious how it does against cigarettes? I don't smoke but some of my friends do when they come over haha

Jasmine is almost universally loved. I would recommend it highly.

Not too knowledgeable on this subject, but if you have cats, I recently read that some essential oils can be toxic to them.

We don't have any cats but we do have a dog, though he doesn't come in my room. (He doesn't know how to act in here, just chews on the blankets lol)

This is correct; they'll both cause burns on the surface of the skin in their undilluted strengths and can cause serious toxicity illnesses, including fatally.

I do hope you're not planning on trying to treat anything with it. The "remedies" with it are pseudoscience scam crap >_>

You can keep your thoughts like this to yourself, if they're not productive to what I'm looking for. vuv

Lavender, rosemary, orange, peppermint are the obvious ones, but aside from lavender they can all be pretty powerful, easy to overwhelm your sense of smell. Make sure you dillute them well into a carrier oil, which should have no scent of it's own. Be very careful not to get these on your skin unless they're extremely dilluted, as with the exception of tea tree oil (and one other, but I don't remember well enough to honestly say if it was lavender or eucalyptus) essential oils will burn you.

I can ask my mother later this week for recommendations.

I'll check those out! I'm sure the sets of stuff I'm getting will have instructions about mixing and stuff. I hadn't really looked, other than it just saying to drop a few drops into the water. (I'm also new to the whole thing so I don't know if, like, all diffusers use water/are humidifiers?)
