It tastes amazing. But it's really heavy and full of calories, so we only make it once in a great while.

Normally Tater Tot and Edible don't end up on the same page for me, but this looks pretty tasty. If only I didn't have to watch my diet for my heart's sake, I'd give it a shot.

Yeeaaaah, this is super rich and fatty with tons of sodium. I'd avoid this if you're on a cardiovascular diet.

Maybe if someone had prepared it, and you were there, you could take several bites from their plate just to taste it! ;D

if I madde that, I'd put a couple teaspoons of sriracha in the meat mixture.  just enough to bring out th flavor, not make it too spicy.  maybe a couple teaspoons of red pepper flakes instead, or only one teaspoon of each.

I put sriracha on everything. lol

But this was a family dish, so it had to be within the acceptable consensus.

that's why I'd do two tablespooons.  my mother likes spicy as much as I do, more depending on the type, like she loves chinese mustard and I can't stand it, and my father just ordered some Tapatio online after I showed him some at a deli they like to go to.  We might be caucasian, but we actually put hot sauce on our lox and bagels XD

Never had lox before.

it's just thinly sliced smoked salmon.  not fully cooked, just partially.  I've never made it, look it up. or I looked it up and linked to it here.  Nova Lox.

I don't care for salmon. lol

I don't like cooked salmon.  but smoked on a bagel, or in sushi.  you like sushi?  bit of raw fish on vinegared rice.

Love Americanized Chinese food, hate sushi. Not really my thing, I'm afraid.

I like canned tuna fish, though.

And fresh river trout roasted over a fire while camping.

Fresh Talapia is also good. (Never farm raised.)

if I have tilapia in a fish fry, it's ok.  I like perch, cod, haddock, fried and breaded.  can't stand canned tuna, gimme fresh and raw or not at all.  although I've had sashimi grade tuna that's been cooked.  it's not the same as canned tuna, it's like comparing steak to beef jerky.

Canned tuna, little mayo, some diced black olives, three hard boiled eggs diced. Mix it all together with just a tiny pinch of salt and a little black pepper.

Makes a hell of a sandwich spread.

that sounds alright, except the tuna ruining it LOL.  I love broccoli, onions, and brussels sprouts, and sushi and shellfish.  I can afford to be picky with a few things like canned tuna.  only if I'm starving, and literally no other food is available.

Yeah, it's pretty high in calories. But it's okay to eat it once in a while.

We only make it once or twice a year.
