I don't feel like this is working out (+ decreased activity in music)

tl;dr Patreon is just kind of there, no biting on commissions. I'm on the edge of giving up music and re-evaluate what I like to do because this isn't working out. I'll still be around for commissioning stuff but please don't expect works on my other sites being churned out as often anymore.

Okay, so....I usually don't really like to vent on a main because I hate whining in public and I don't reallyh want to look selfish, but...I need to let it out this time: I personally don't think music is working out well for me.

I want to just say beforehand that I appreciate all the artists, whether they draw clean or dirty, that they're able to pick up a skill that I feel like is better and more appreciative. It's really easy to stumble upon drawings of drawings because you know someone out there would find the same interest as you are, and tagged right, you're bound to have those people find you very easily.

Music is....I don't know, it's just kind of there. Thing is, sometimes it feels harder to keep a branding on music unless you're following one of the bigger bandwagons ("cute" sounds, "dubstep-sounding" tracks, etc.) or if you already had a bigger following from the start. I ranted a few weeks ago how it's also really hard for me to carry on because I receive almost no feedback from anyone. I feel like the last time a lot of people think remembered me is from an old joke song whereas the more original works are just being less appreciated. It's like bringing out your stuff you want to show people to the void.

So I don't know. I don't know if I want to keep making music at the moment. I really don't want to sound really selfish; I appreciate everyone that has been really supportive all this time. but I've been thinking of to just give up and pursue something else, y'know? Even as I'm writing this my little brain keeps shittalking to me as if no one would bother reading this big wall of text. I don't know. I don't really have the confidence anymore. My whole life is currently spiralling down because of this particular skill that I wish i couldn't have gotten sometimes.

I guess occasionally I'll put up some WIP stuff on Patreon, if you guys would like to hear what stuff I'd have worked on, but now that it's no longer a priority, it'll just be there as a tip jar.As for Bandcamp and Soundcloud, I'm having thoughts of purging them. They're just kind of there now, occasionally people finding the stuff on SC and just liking it but that's about it. There's nothing even coming in on Bandcamp anyway, either.

If you read this far, I thank you. That's the most appreciative gesture I can receive at the very least. For now, I'll take my leave. Contact details are on my profile page if you need me for something.

I'll see you guys around.

It does! The truth is you're bound to be found out by people more if you draw a lot of fanarts (remixes, in a musical context) because they're familiar with the subject.

Unfortunately fanart tends to bring in more of an audience than original works.
I've noticed most of the artists I listen to started with touhou or vocaloid stuff lol.
I like your music a lot but I have nothing to say constructively as I don't really know the construction well.
However, I really like hearing original works because it tells about the artist more, but it's rarer. :<
Anyway, keep up your work, it's great. I hope more people will notice your talent.

Ah, thank you! I'd have to agree about the fanart/remix bringing in more audience than originals, however I for the life of me can't bring myself to make remixes out of Touhou/Vocaloid songs, mainly because either the ideas I have probably have already been done before or the only way is to remix a song that's probably already been done to death.

Touhou remixes are fairly saturated now anyway, not like any other genres aren't as saturated.

OH MY LORD YOUR DOING MUSIC COMMISSIONS I HOPE I'M NOT TOO LATE *GRASPS FRAGILE HEART*. *ahem*, firstly PLEEEEAAASE DO NOT GIVE UP MUSIC ;~; it's one of the most sacred things in the world and you're also hella good at it >3<. considering the quality of your tracks i can tell you're passionate af about it ^^. oddly enough i'm one of the few people (i guess?) who really don't care for fan art/remixes lol. i truly to prefer to hear/see/read what truly comes from the artists heart. its amazing. anyway... wondering if you would consider making juke/footwork tracks? niche af i know but some of your tracks (like Polyhedron) got the 160bpm vibe >:3. just thought i'd aaaaaask!

thanks!
