You know that itchy feeling in the roof of your mouth, sometimes...? And then you tell yourself "I'm sure it's fine", and ignore it and get sick? Then you have a shitty day at work because you're sick? =\

Yeah, that may have contributed to my feeling somewhat... down, yesterday afternoon, and not just the silly dating sim after all. I don't want to say depressed but... well, when you go looking for porn and end up actually reading through the dialogue in some corny romantic dating sim, instead of just clicking through it to reach the porn? =\

And now I'm sick. And someone at work is angry that I bailed on my shift tomorrow. Because I'm sick. Me. The guy that never takes sickies. The guy that always says that's fine and agrees to cover for everyone else whenever they get sick or they need to swap shifts for whatever reason. Except lately, because this year has really begun to be a real drag. Because it's been years at this job, and I've so far taken 2 weeks worth of holidays, because I'm fine with waiting until it's convenient for me to take any holidays, rather than insisting that I take them whenever I fucking want.

Sure, it's new year's and all. Sure, I'm getting the whole month of February off from work... but that's still a whole month away. And they decided to give me all of February more than three months ago.

I may be a little salty. Turns out it's not fine. I'm sick. I'm more than a little tired of customer service.

And towards the start of the day, before I actually felt quite so sick, I intended to write a different journal entirely. One filled with positivity, and Pokemon. And how cool a Pokemon game would be in a big, 3D open-world like Breath of the Wild, where you can literally climb every mountain! Combine it with the fighting game style of Pokken Tournament, where you play as the trainer UNTIL you enter combat, where YOU take control of your Pokemon, and the trainer becomes the passive, non-combat pet, mechanically speaking. Because in how many games do AI "pets" work well in combat? Suddenly, with this idea, it makes sense for YOU to control the Pokemon you have trained while the trainer behaves as the trainer WOULD and hangs back out of the battle, but still FOLLOWS you as you battle across basically the entire open-world map, rather than being restricted to a battle zone that's always the same, and so flat and boring... suddenly, movement and combat across varying terrain becomes not only a challenge but also a fun tactical gameplay feature!

So, what are the odds that Nintendo is working on something with a similar idea? You saw breath of the wild, right? The Wolf Link amiibo was disappointing because you couldn't HEAL it after a fight, and could only summon it ONCE a day. This is basically the point I'm trying to make about combat pets in video games; the AI is stupid, and tends to get itself killed.

So, combine an open-world with the ability to customise your whole team of Pokemon's skills to suit your own preferred combat style within the mechanics of a fighting game? Shit guys, that IS Pokemon. I want to play this game.

No...

I want to MAKE this game! O_O
