Why Isn't 'SOUND' A Pokemon Type?

I'm probably very late to the game on this suggestion, I don't watch 'Game Theory' or visit blogs on all matter of gaming/fandom subjects, but of ALL the possible Pokemon types that could've been, why isn't 'Sound' a canon one by this time?

After at least 20 years of sweeping the globe, Pokemon's had a long history of development, generations of fans, and an ever increasing list of species making it an ever extending challenge to 'catch 'em all'.  Yet surprisingly, since it's beginning, a total of 3 'new types' were introduced.  3!  2 back in the second gen, and only 1 in sixth gen.  Sure, it may have ended up being a bit overboard if each generation introduced at least 1 new type (the damage charts would probably look like an even bigger jumbled mess by now), but there are a good number of potential possibilities, no doubt.  Fairy did a great job in reducing the overwhelming number of Normal that accumulated over the years, but there's still a good number than can be changed in future gens.  And 'Sound' could very well be a worthy candidate.

Surprisingly, it wasn't until gen 3 that a sudden increase in Ghost types became known, as well as finally introducing pure Ice types, which before then were almost as rare.  Throughout the years more and more typing combos have come, thus expanding more and more possibilities.  And of course, the introduction of a new type would certainly mix it up even further.  Let's have a look at 'Sound' type candidates:

Zubat - Golbat - Crobat = Poison/Sound
Yanma - Yanmega = Bug/Sound
Whismur - Loudred - Exploud = Sound
Chingling - Chimecho = Psychic/Sound
Kricketot - Kricketune = Bug/Sound
Bronzor - Bronzong = Steel/Sound
Chatot = Sound/Flying
Woobat - Swoobat = Psychic/Sound
Audino = Sound
Tympole - Palpitoad - Seismitoad = Water/Sound
Maractus = Grass/Sound
Tornadus = Sound/Flying
Meloetta = Sound/Psychic + Sound/Fighting
Noibat - Noivern = Sound/Dragon

For all I know, there could be other candidates out there.  But that seems like a decent number to go by alone.  Not to mention a multitude of attacks that are already sound based: Growl, Echoed Voice, Boomburst, etc...

Anywho, just saying it could happen someday!  There's no reason why it couldn't.  ^^;

I bet they will. No way they create those pokemon with possible sound-esque quality be that abundent. Any poke with more common type of unsure ability wont appear  undiscovered.
But... Betting that They dont have many ideas what sound can do other than make pokemon dizzy or disobey.
 Wait n see what switchh pokemon can offer. For me i dont get why they dont make Male Kangiskhan as a fast agile babyless pokemon.

I assume because sound can come from everywhere so it's a normal type sorta thing?

That reminds me.  'Grass' is just one particular classification of plants/vegetation.  So why aren't they called 'Plant' type?

I guess I'm just full of questions all of a sudden...

I think just like most of the typing (which is kinda proven by steel, and even fairy types) that the name is simply used in the context: Grass represents all plants, steel doesn't always mean metal, and fairy doesn't always mean stereotypically girly.

In those same contexts steel can mean: "hard as steel" or some kind of other metal. Fairy can sometimes mean "light, holy energy, etc." granted I still wouldn't figure that with the name "FAIRY TYPE" at least grass and steel give ya more clues on the coverage of things.

with typing it's a matter of just accepting it for simplicity sake and moving on. I think Pok'emon types are big in vairety already there wouldn't need to be more less we over complicate things even further to be honest.
