They don't sell food at those, It's just a barebones theater with one or two rooms or it has only a snack and soda machine. I used to go to one of those when I was just arrived in America and was still learning English. They had movies with subtitles and people who went there were immigrants coming from countries where there is no culture of eating at the movies.

Also, my HD screen might not be quite as good as the dark theater, but I still get all the same information in reasonably good quality. What I get in return for a little less quality is full control, and I like being in control.
