*Sigh* People...

It's amazing how people think they can judge you accurately based on what you like. Or how people determinedly try to connect fictional things to the real thing and peg you as a monster because of it.

look at the comment section, people just having a ball bashing me. Anyone got any ideas on what I should do?

Well, it's kinda hard to do sometime. I mean, I love comments from people, but not when they are attacks against my character.

In their defense, it's a pretty graphic subject matter, even in fantasy.
I don't condone them for kink shaming a fantasy, because it's a fantasy so as long as you don't act on it IRL, you're within your right, but rape is still a pretty dark thing to have a desire for when the implications behind it are so negative and the representations for it are about as twisted as a torture chamber after being a prisoner of war. I'm not saying they were right, nor am I kink shaming you, because honestly, what you fantasize in your spare time ain't my damn business, nor do I have a right to kink shame when everyone has one, but since the subject matter is a rather dark and graphically represented kink, you can't entirely blame their response given the picture.

Honestly, you're better off ignoring them for the sake of, it's a guarantee they're not the only ones who feel that way, but there's more than likely ones who would've taken a less sensible, albeit arrogant, approach to the subject. At least the ones here actually did it in a way that makes sense, most would've just acted like children and made empty threats.

Well, I know it's a dark subject matter and I do not approve of it in real life. But there is something primal about it that I just can't ignore and I recently met a woman who legitimately, IRL, wanted it done to her, so much so that it was a mood killer if the rapist in her roleplays took care of her afterward. That being said, I am not the only one with such interest. But still, it hurts when people ignorantly attack me. Were I watching this happen IRL, I'd be punching Garret's face it, but it's not happening IRL, so I enjoy it. People just don't seem to understand that I do have a clear divide between real and fiction, so despite what it "Could" represent IRL, it's not IRL so why even bother comparing or debating about it?

And that's fine, some people like the rush of being taken and will do stuff like that, again, it's a kink...granted it has to be consensualized for someone not to go to jail, but still a kink.

You know that rush of superiority most people who lack empathy get when they lecture people on everything wrong with them?
Yeah, that's why they do it, to feel like they're, "better than you," because they feel you're a sick pervert or something for having a rape kink. Idk how that works, since being on e621, most people have extreme kinks who upload there, so kink shaming anyone becomes arbitrary.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I did tell them not to judge me, but this being the internet, they probably will anyway
darkking23

You don't tell them that, it just makes them do it more.

With the internet, you just gotta use that bs reverse psychology crap parents would use on kids. Just act like you don't give a damn and they typically die off and move the hell on.

Right. maybe I should delete the picture and then reupload it to purge the comment section
darkking23

That's easiest, but unless you can disable comments, it might just change the people who make the comments
GarretMvahd

well, I can't disable comments on e621. Comments are only hidden if they achieve 3 downvotes

oh, well just ignoring it as best you can should work as well

I don't get why you would even bother reading the comments on E621 in the first place, half it's population are ether trolls or sjw's who come on just to kink shame.

Because I love hearing from people about what they thought of my commissions or writings. A fav is fine, but there is something special about someone who takes time to comment on something they liked.

That has happened to me recently.
Shortly before November 4th was when Antifa was planning nationwide riots until Trump and Pence stepped down. Members of Antifa claimed they were also going to attack people out of random.
As it turned out, Antifa's November 4th plans were flop. But prior to November 4th, no one was really sure how it was going to go down.

All I had said in response to that was that I was keeping a rifle in the house on November 4th where I could get to it in case they smashed the door down, stormed into the house, and came after me swinging baseball bats and machetes, targeting me as "one of those random people to attack".

A certain artist on this site accused me of "calling on everyone to go out and shoot people"...And accused me of being a racist ... And accused me of labeling all African-Americans as being violent...None of which even had the slightest resemblance to what I said...
...As for the "racist" accusation goes, most of Antifa are whites anyway.

It amazes me how someone could dream that up out of my saying I was going to be prepared to defend myself from serious bodily harm and / or death if the trouble came into the house during November 4th.

People are fools, they can't take things as they are and just love twisting things to their own purpose. I don't approve of rape or child molestation in real life, but because I commission art and enjoy fictional variants of both, the key word here being FICTIONAL, then I must be a monster that would gleefully indulge in this stuff IRL.

What I enjoy fictionally doesn't represent what I am like in real life. But they just can't accept that. Because to do so would be to admit that they were wrong.

I see a lot of trolls on that page too. They think that because you draw it, that you would also do it.

I use to draw pictures of car wrecks and train derailments in middle school art class. And in my 63 years of living, I have never ran a car into someone or sabotaged railroad tracks.

Because you have this little thing that seems to be foriegn to most people these days called a conscience. You know that it's wrong and could never bring yourself to do it.
moyomongoose
6 years, 4 months ago
You probably got that pretty well figured out.
Those trolls might not have a conscience, so because of that, they have to constantly tell them selves, "I better not draw that because then that means I'll have to do it".
GarretMvahd

Indeed. I was raised well, I know where to draw the line. It's why if I feel I must voice displeasure at something, it's usually something legitimate, like these trolls' own idiocy. But, all that being said, sometimes it's best to not say anything.
