Oh wow... in Super Mario 3D Land, the leaves that turn Mario into Tanooki Mario... turn Luigi into Kitsune Luigi. Yes, Luigi wears a fox fursuit distinguishable as such from the tanuki suit that Mario wears. Different tail pattern and pointy ears = obvious.
