Tapestries...

by
So, after having a little bit of a comment conversation with one of my viewers, I realized there are probably a lot of furs on here who play Tapestries, and of course anyone watching me is likely to be a cub or at least cub friendly on there! I have just recently started playing again after many years of not playing, and so so so many of my old playmates have retired from the game or changed their names or just never play anymore!

Soooooo, if anyone wants to page #mail Xichan on Tapestries and say hi, please do! I'd love to find some new friends and maybe playmates...

Tapestries is a MUCK - a type of multi-player text roleplay game, accessed through either a specialty MUCK client or a raw telnet connection. Most MUCKs, Tapestries included, are divided up into rooms you can travel between and interact with via text commands, much like the old Zork game.

Tapestries stands out and has continued to this day due to the fact that it is an adults only furry MUCK - that is to say, you have to sign an age statement to get a login, and until recently human characters were not allowed. Effectively, it is a roleplay environment for sexual interaction of furry characters, and a decent number of players on there have underage characters.

I play on it from time to time. Most of the characters I have on my page are ones I play on Tapestries

Thanks! One of these days I'll figure out how to get SL to run on Linux again...

Windows, man. :B

Also, Firestorm is the superior viewer program, and they have Linux support: http://www.firestormviewer.org/downloads/

I have been on SL once or twice. All the cool bodies I want cost Linden :( lol oh well!

And? People expect to be paid for the stuff they make. :P At least it's all user-made, and if you're wanting to make a cub, the tweenster - the best kid/preteen body around - is VERY well-priced, and the clothing for it's really cheap too.

Oh I never meant that as a bad thing I agree people put work in they should get paid :)

I have never used Tapestries or MUCK and though I did heard of those multiple times, I didn't even knew those were still open / alive.

If you're looking to roleplay or talk with people, you should maybe try F-List , you'll just have to create a profile / character and you'll be able to communicate in various ways such as online chat, group discussions or notes. You can even search, bookmark and friend profiles that you like, order your kinks so that people see what you like or not...

Oh and I wouldn't suggest Second Life for any cub stuff, though there is some people doing ageplay, it isn't authorized and can get banned for it.

I might have to give F-list a shot, although I've actually got a few responses just from posting about Tapestries on here. Thanks for the heads up!

You're welcome to keep an eye out and say hello.  RP is catch-as-catch can for me these days and personalities have to mesh well for such.  Chatting is generally never an issue though.

I wouldn't have thought so many people would respond to a Tapestries Muck's 'call'. I haven't logged in there forever, and I suppose my time there just passed, the same way the Lion King Muck's did.

It's a shame that the muck concept hasn't evolved. SL was NEVER a replacement. Not even f-list is. SL would if one could at least use oculus or any other kind of interface that would let you move your character in the same way you move RL, including rigging facial expressions. Now that'd be cool :D that technology is almost there, we only have to wait.

In the meanwhile, making an easy-to-understand muck client, one that could let you even create maps and such would be pretty cool.

You know, as advanced as CSS, HTML, Flash and Java is now, it probably wouldn't be too difficult to write up a multi-room chat website with graphical elements. Make an editor page so anyone can design their own room, have a list of online characters on the right hand side like many chat rooms have, have every character a clickable link that brings up a popup of a picture and description of the character. Maybe have the background of the chat window be a graphical panorama view of the "room" with clickable elements that allow you to either get a popup view of the clicked element, or navigate to a new "room". If I were not so busy with other projects, I could probably design a web interface MUCK, something that would allow players to design and link rooms together. It could be done in a decentralized fashion so that anyone can use the code to build a base starting area, and anyone else(with the base owner's permission) could link in their own rooms. Each room could be a separate URL and could even be hosted separately.

For player safety, you could have a terms of use agreement popup every time you login that states you are over the age of consent in your country as a CYA type thing...
