In my second year of secondary school, I watched a fairly rubbish film called "Our Day Out" in English class. It featured Liverpudlian schoolkids stealing all of the animals from a zoo (because they're from Liverpool, presumably).
Anyway, they were found out, and were made to hand the animals back by their teacher (who happened to look like Rowan Atkinson), and this one kid reached into his jacket and handed over a coiled python.
To 12-year-old me, that pretty much made me need a python, and I guess that carried over when I became a furry.
