As it turns out, Mom just bought a new monitor for her computer and she gave me her old one to replace the one that went boom. It's rather larger than the one I used to have, too. I'm so spoiled. It's even an HP, which matches the rest of my equipment.
So. All is right with the world again and I just have to hope my computer will hang on to life for another few years if it can at all. Poor old thing's a dinosaur already, but I'm quite fond of it.
