Hey everyone! I'm thinking of doing some reviews of stuff like anime, movie, doujins and such. Since I said most of my opinion of Thor 3 in someone's journal, I decided it would be a good way to start!
I'm not sure if everyone else is afraid of speaking out loud, but I didn't liked Thor 3 as much as most people in the world seem to do. I mean, it's not a bad movie...or at least not as bad as say Iron Man 3 or others from Marvel. Certainly not as bad as most of DC either like Suicide Squad. But I really didn't liked how most of the comedy was just everywhere and felt forced in most of the movie (like right at the start...ok the first part with the chains was nice, but repeating it two times like that was just...forced). They really exaggerated, I feel it ruined some scenes that should have been epic like the part in which Banner was supposed to jump as Hulk to Fight Fenrir.
Plus other stuff that bother me and it's "funny" how nobody else seem to care or didn't notice, are the plot holes. Like, Thor, God of Thunder...gets zap like a little bitch because of that tiny device on his neck. How he didn't cared about his friends who died like flies right at the start of movie. How the movie basically RUINED Ragnarok 9( it's fuking Ragnarok! It's something so big they could build an entire set of movies leading into it!). How they fucked mjolnir (no, i'm not talking about how it's destroyed by Hela but how Odin says it's just a decide made to help Thor control his powers which not only doesn't make sense but makes such an important thing from Thor's mythology in both the comics and movies much more weak. Why you should be considered "worthy" of raising what is pretty much just a device to help a god control his powers if the device itself isn't a divine weapon or something with its own powers?) And much more (for ex where in the fuck is Lady Sif? I actually know why she isn't in the movie, but for the movie itself not even care to explain why she wouldn't be in it it's just...lazy at best).
In Guardians 2 the humor is similar, but in Guardians 2 most of the comedy works. Maybe because it wasn't as much forced or because there wasn't much plot holes that bothered me like in Thor 3? Dunno but I certainly enjoyed Guardians 2 far more, even if the humor was similar but I felt in Guardians it just wasn't as exaggerated as it is here.
I think that maybe it wasn't just the comedy or those plot holes that made me dislike the movie that much. It's because with the way they focused on the comedy itself, it just takes way too much from the stakes or the tension that should be there. For ex, If Thor makes so much jokes and don't seem to care that much to lose his home world why should we?
That all being said, it's not like the movie is so bad it's just painful to watch like the true bad movies of the so called cinematic universe being made by marvel. There are nice stuff, like the fight between Thor and hulk, which is by far the best scene of the movie! The villain, as far as the villain os Marvel movies go, is actually nice and it's a shame we shouldn't see her again. But to me and I'm sure to others that are afraid of giving their honest opinion, it sure left a sour taste because of what it could have been.I mean, the movie even had one of the WORST post credit scenes from the history of Marvel.No, I'm not talking about the ship scene which actually is nice and do exactly what a post credit scene is supposed to do; tease, make you eager for the next movies in the Marvel Universe...I'm talking about the the other one. It doesn't add anything, felt like a complete waste of time. At least I chuckled with the famous "patience" scene of Homecoming, even if it also didn't add anything.
So I give the movie...FOUR KAMIKAZES OUT OF TEN! Maybe it might seen too low, but for the true bad superhero movies like Iron man 3, I would give just one so...you can do better Thor. And I hope you do next time.
