Okay here's MY very own SW 7 theory...It's proven false in 2nd SW 8 trailer tho'...still, what do you think about it?
So, when Old Luke saw Rey holding out Anakin's lightsaber...why the awkward silence???
Well I know why! It's because of Luke's artificial hand! What makes it work after years of isolation without seemingly no technology at all?
1. Maybe Star Wars has prosthetic, that can function just by being powered by the electricity of one's body. maybe it has body heat converters...I'd like to think it has a small battery similar to batteries located inside a lightsaber. It's small and work for a long time, before it needs to be replaced. Why batteries? Anakin and Luke were both able to grip stronger with their robotic arms, so it was maybe a force-boost...or a little battery-boost. I like the battery theory, because they werent gripping stronger with their living hand.
2. So after years of isolation, Luke's robot arm battery may have died out on Him. Maybe the solar panels/chargers went useless. But when Luke saw the lightsaber, He knew that He has a new source of power, and can use His robotic hand again...
...for masturbation, of course!!!! I mean there is His other hand, but that's His own...the Robot hand feels like, it's somebody else! He has an oath to never sex with another person, so my masturbation theory is valid.
And then in the 2nd SW 8 trailer, Luke's robot hand closes on Anakin's lightsaber...Either it really works, or Luke moves it with the force...Thanks 2nd trailer, for ruining my Masturbating Luke theory...
