Having Trouble Figuring Out Pixiv

I'd kinda like to post some artwork/do commissions of human shotas, but I think the only place that lets you do that anymore is Pixiv, and I don't really understand how that site works.

Are you allowed to post commission offers on Pixiv? I don't think they have a journal system, so I'm not sure how I'd go about it.

Don't they have some sorta censorship policy where you have to mosaic the goodies? Or is that only for users living in Japan? Because sometimes the kinky art on there is censored and sometimes it ain't, and I don't understand the determining factors behind that.

Because darn it, I need to draw some little human cuties, but I don't know how to get that kinda work out to the public without website staff members stepping on my face. XD

It's for the little things like this, that I'm thinking of learning Japanese.

Everyone with the slightest interest in video games or anime gets the urge to learn Japanese at some point. XD

For me, I think it started with all the websites and corners of the internet where you can't understand it otherwise and google translate is even more useless than usual.

I recommend not posting commission offers except in the descriptions of other things, similar to a "preview" done for comic releases at upcoming cons there.

Censorship law varies similar to US obscenity law and sometimes it is cracked down on more than other times.  Small bar over the frenulum, tip, and base of shaft should be sufficient but some places like DLsite require full mosaic.

Hiccears is a good alternative which doesn't require censorship but has a very limited audience.  It appears to be made specifically for this purpose!

HicceArs, huh? Might be worth looking into. I figure the sorta work I'd wanna do would have a limited audience no matter what. However, according to fairwind's journal from a few months ago, HicceArs got their business account suspended by PayPal, so I'm not sure how long the site will be active, or if they'll be required to change their policies in order to stay in business.

Either way, thanks a lot for the advice. I know this sorta content is a minefield, so I wanna move very carefully. XD

PIXIV is a great site as long as you post content with consership, covering penis, balls and anus will work for you.
Hiccears will not have paypal anymore but we are working on better alternative, I will do the best I can to keep the site running and we have great plan in the future. We try to keep at low profile since the website is far from complete.
Thank you for your consideration and all feedback will be welcome.

Some users I follow post commission information in the form of submissions, but not offers for them. Unlike FurAffinity, there doesn't seem to be any "information" field where you can simply post current events. I figure you could just put said offers or slots in the submission description like billmurray suggested.

As for censorship, either the minuscule censor bars, or the alternative of whiting out genitalia/orifices would probably be accepted by Pixiv's censorship standards.

How I hate to censor things. Blasted moral values slowin' me down. XD

Sofurry still doesn't forbid that, I think.

I was never entirely sure what their policy was about that sorta thing. I actually have a really old SF account (unless they've since deactivated it), so that's something to consider.

Aogami seems to have a good amount of success posting censored stuff here with a link to Hiccears and also posting commission journals here. Maybe that's a good model to look into.

Yeah, I was tempted to offer human shota commissions without actually posting them on IB, but I was worried the IB staff would crack down on that; Inkbunny's ToS and AUP are vague about whether it's okay to offer commissions that involve subjects you aren't allowed to post on the site. Then again, Aogami posts direct links to his human shota works right in his upload descriptions -- no HicceArs subscription required -- and if they didn't bust him for that, maybe I'd be okay offering commissions here.

Please please do. I would flip for a cub and or shota commission from you.

It's not a problem as long as you don't host the result here (or have, say, a YCH showing genitals which is a human or equivalent, even if not finished). A cropped preview which itself meets the policy accompanied by a labelled link in the description is fine!

there is a censorship thing but it's more little black lines over things like foreskin and urethra. japanese censorship is weird.

i wouldn't put requests on there because pixiv is more of a display gallery than a community.

also all the japanese people on pixiv absolute hate it when foreigners post shota there. nobody japanese likes shota so they're sick of the western trend on that site. japanese people do draw loli but it's not what the site is about and it's a rarity. almost all the loli porn on pixiv is made by Americans. you're basically opening yourself up to racial hatred if you post that.

I imagine I'm opening myself up to hatred by posting anything on the internet ever. XD
