So yesterday was my birthday. I turned 36. At one time in my life, I didn't think I would live that old. Also means I do not have that much life left. Guess I'll have to do what I can to get some happyness while I can. A few people wished it to me, got a few gifts (you can see Snow's gift on my page), my parents took me to dinner in a restaurant. It's a nice place, build in a church-like basement but that make it pretty small (I'm glad we left shortly after a group of 15 joined, because they were super loud). I tried a meat I never had before, pidgeon. It was quite tasty and soft, which is different than many experiences with it. People tend to find it chewy, but the really sympathic waiter explained to us that they cook the meat two times with two different techniques to keep it soft. It was original, I didn't regretted it.
What was really great was the dessert. It is called a rubikcube, and it's 8 white chocolate colored cubes filled with ice-cream. The game is to guess what those flavors are since they don't tell you until you are finished. With my father we figured out 6 of the 8. One was impossible, it was champagne wine mixed with egg white to create an emulsion. The problem is that it doesn't stay solid for more than a few minutes. The waiters waited on my mother to be back from the bathroom to serve us and by that time, the wine had returned to its liquid state and was spread all over. The whole dessert was rather embarassing, as the waiter had learned earlier we were here for my birthday, and played happy birthday on the piano while another one brought the dessert with one candle on it. Kill all the jokes about me being one year old, I am NOT !
Situation at work is getting worse and worse. We lost 4 people in the past two weeks, either quitting or fired (one was actually tricked into accepting to quit instead of being fired, loosing money in the process) and we are doing a lot of illegal stuff, like selling products we don't have the right to sell after buying it from people who aren't allowed to sell to us. Also, we are going to be shown our new website, but in the middle of the rush time of the week instead of during a slow day. But the boss doesn't listen to any advice and yells at anyone who tells him otherwise that what he wants to hear, so it's pretty stressfull. Will see how it goes.
Maybe I'll be a puppy again someday. ;-)
