Some variant of "Your ideology is bullshit and you are a moron because its anti-western, the west has been working for hundreds of years and prospered..." and yada yada yada
Lets target the 'meat' of this 'argument', since anti-western is pretty subjective and tied down to what you feel is even western to begin with, and focus in on 'what we have works'.
What we have works has been used since the start of civilization to justify the repression of progression in society, technology, economy, and governance. Its natural for people to be weary of change, but it goes far too far when people start shitting out of their mouth about how what we have works, and has always worked. What we have is new, the world changes and evolves - what we have now is not how its always been and its not the end all be all. I firmly believe any society should strive to continually progress and evolve to suit a changing technology, society, and mentality. When you start saying 'what we have works and if you disagree you are a moron' you start marching a very iffy line.
Our Democracy has changed and evolved - when things started out the Senate was appointed and only white men could vote. Then things got better, and then things got even better, and we still have a long way to go and many hurdles to overcome.
Our economy has changed and evolved. From mercantilism, to a early farming economy, to an industrialized economy, to a hands off capitalist economy, and then to a slow progression to a more regulated variant of capitalism to suit the US and its unique position. It isn't the end all be all, and it never was - its continually changing and evolving. I won't buy the excuse for reaction "its perfect how its always been" its 'always been' for less than 100 years...way less.
I could go on, but these are the two main areas where you find that argument; government and economics. This also applies to every other country, though I find myself at a loss for time and much motivation to draw this out to an inane degree.
Things are not perfect, and saying they are ensures it never improves. Saying things are perfect exactly the way they are, and additionally using the argument of 'you are a moron' followed by imaginary history is just silly.
Stagnate societies collapse while adaptable ones last and thrive.
Anyhow, more of the sleepy ramblings of a political scientist. Just in case anyone is getting annoyed there is an option to disable just journals while still keeping track of submissions and whatever else I do like comment and stuff (you can disable stream updates too from here as well as other things). I don't mean to scare people away and unless something super major explosive deathy happens I don't intent to make submissions, and those that contain a political message won't be tied to porn or furry art - I don't really do that jazz.
