Finally...

Thank goodness that this is being recognized as a serious problem. In fact, it's one main reason I very rarely watch TV anymore. It's those goddamn loud-as-hell commercials! >_<

A bill is going through Congress that would regulate the sound volume of commercials to levels comparable to normal programming. It's not just that the volume is cranked up to 11... the amount of dynamic range compression is far greater than necessary.

I heard that it is the only bill coming out of Congress in a long time that was voted "yes" unanimously

Ain't that something... the only thing the Dems and Repubs can all agree on!

Commercials are the reason I steal all my TV now. Theoretically, I could watch almost everything I watch on a regular basis online, streaming. But I hate commercial advertisements...

If I can't find it somewhere online, I don't need to watch it. At least the ads inserted in the video streams are somewhat tolerable, if AdBlock doesn't filter them.

True. Less blaring volume, and less volume of commercials too!

If I could vote on it I would!
