Thought it would be good to update you guys on what is going on with my current dilema.
My island is still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria, which made landfall 2 weeks after Maria, an indirect hit but still caused some property damage to the island.
Slowly but surely the power provider to my country has been restoring power and over the span of 1 month, they have restored 6% of the islands power. We are projected to be 100% by next year March. Hopefully I myself will receive electricity to my home by next month due to the proximity of my home to the power plant.
There is limited running government water, so we have resorted to pulling water from wells and our cisterns in our homes (cisterns are water reservoirs built in the foundation of our housing) No showers, no faucets just buckets of water to use for which we are still grateful.
Hospitals and groceries have been restored so we have the essential needs, schools have resumed from yesterday.
We are strong and resilient islanders, my grandma would tell me that all these luxuries, electricity running water, cars, all these came about for the general public in the early 80s for us, if we survived then, then we sure as hell can make it now.
I hope to bounce back as soon as I possibly can along with the rest of my nation. Until then I shall continue to update you all and for those who have been thinking of me, thank you and keep us in your thoughts.♥
