I NEED YOUR HELP !

I am not a cosmic being. I live in Bergenfield, N.J. and I shop at Stop&Shop and at Pathmark. Well, I USED to shop at Pathmark. Some 2 years ago it went under and ACME bought the Bergenfield outlet. After a week's closure (to change signs, get the Acme uniforms...) it reopened, much the same as before.

In both incarnations, I got my medications at the pharmacy there (same helpful staff !) with a discount plan. Yes, I am NOT in good health. I take blood pressure meds, thyroxine supplement, and for some years now, daily TuoJeo Insulin injections. The discount plan lowered cost of that to  $174.03 for 3 pens.. Not ideal, but I could live with it.

This would gone on for years,BUT Acme showed signs of malaise. Restocking of shelves was not done efficiently and I had not found my favorite diet sodas in 2 consecutive visits. Due to 2 items on the shelves ,but NOT in the database (preventing me from buying them) I had already cut back my patronage to days I had prescriptions to refill. Then ...

Acme  decided to close the Bergenfield store. The pharmacy was shuttered early, The prescription data was moved to Walgreens around the corner to Bergenfield's main avenue. THAT was no problem, BUT they didn't move the staff - or my discount plan. I had to deal with a staff that spoke gibberish and tried to charge me $750 for the 3 TuoJeo pens ! That I found unacceptable ! $750 is not the kind of money I'd spend on anything less than a laptop or tax payments (town taxes are excessive ). I am already tabulating medical expenditures for presenting to my tax man for consideration. Any layout done under protest I hope he can deal with.

If I can't get a discount plan , I'd have to speak to my family doctor. She was once in walking distance (if one could spare 30-40 minutes), but now I have to drive to Hackensack. I already have several regular dealings there and Target is one of the best supermarkets, and ,now retired, may consider moving there !

What is your advice ?

My wife always has problems with her meds at Walgreens. Since we switched to CVS we are much better. But of course, every store is different and every insurance is different too. Sometimes she has to be all day on the phone ben transferred from one low-level bureaucrat to the other until she gets her prescriptions right. She has the patience for that!

I wish I could help some more. Maybe I lend her to you so she can call and bitch them for you.

$750 sounds outrageous to me too..

I'm sorry to say I don't have much experience in this topic, thus no good advice, but I do hope you find a solution!
