but they will come to me... sooner or later ^^

The sad thing about most of these is that I've not yet gotten to play though them... got stuck as a kid; or haven't set aside the time now that I'm older

Jaws NES...
That game still creeps me the fuck out.  Jaws the movie never bugged me, sharks IRL don't much bother me (from behind glass), but I'm pretty sure it's because of that damn NES game that I have this insane paranoia/fear about video game water.

I just find it ridicolously boring and repetitive...
Oh, and water levels are my favourite levels... at least in mega man, sonic, zelda, starfox... basicly everywhere except sonic... unless you count those where you run over water instead of going ito it, those are ok too ^^

Repetitive, yes.  Boring, maybe a little.  But paranoia-inducing, yes.  You're just sailing around, but out of nowhere comes a shark fin which will chase you from one end of the world to the other.  And with it comes the BIG shark you can't kill, and can't avoid by staying at the top of the water, like you would for the little great whites.  You're just bobbing there in the water, food for a monster you can't kill, you can't escape, you can only swim around while madly trying to avoid it.

Which begs the question...  Why in the hell are you out on the water in the first place?  Surely, collecting some stupid conch shells can't be worth it when there's a giant man-eating shark knocking out boats.

Edit:  Or was it Jaws you could avoid, and the little whites that could still bite you while at the top of the level?
