1. So, little known fact about the original Doom: one of the mappers was a devout Mormon who never saw the issue with making a game about demons; in fact, he was once asked about it by John Romero (yes, THAT John Romero), and he responded with "Why should I care? They're the BAD GUYS!". He also was a huge fan of H.P. Lovecraft's works, and went on to revolutionize horror-themed tabletop RPGs with his version of Call of Cthulhu, which arguably helped to make the Cthulhu Mythos as popular as it is, today. Now, I have them, but I haven't read them, so I can't confirm, but supposedly, in one of the original Doom novels, the main characters, after winding up on Earth, hole up in a Mormon church and are eventually helped in their fight against the demon invaders by a Mormon sniper, also there's a Mormon resistance coup in the books against the demons stationed in Salt Lake City. I wonder, if true, if this was a nod to that mapper?
2. In case you haven't heard, hackers have found a very sweet little easter egg in the Nintendo Switch; if you have version 1.0 or higher, set the internet clock to July 11 (not possible if you already linked it to your internet service, but you can do it, if that is the case, once the date rolls around next year), then make the same "direct to you" motion that Satoru Iwata made when opening the Nintendo Directs with the detached Joycons at the main menu screen, and the movements register on both joycons at the same time, you'll get a sound clip of Iwata himself and the NES version of Golf will start playing. This version is specifically set up for motion controls, so it's a very deliberate find. Since it so heavily references Iwata (the date is the date of his death, the movement of the arms to activate the game is the same as Iwata's, and the game activated is one of Iwata's earliest ones with the company AND one he coded himself), people are considering this a bit of a lucky charm by Nintendo, hinting that there's a little piece of Iwata in every console sold, and as such, he's watching over and protecting them all from failure. I think that's pretty cool.
3. A recent outburst on a Yugioh forum I go to, earlier this week, has made me realize how stubborn, thick-headed, and childish I've been getting with a lot of things, lately, and it makes me concerned about my future relationships. I won't go into it, for the sake of the TL/DR crowd, but suffice it to say, I'm having to take a good, long, hard look at my life and my behavior, and decide what to do, next...
4. I've been looking over my old uploaded Poser renders, and now I'm wondering if I should get back into it. I have lots of characters I can use, from furries to orcs to Na'vi to Xenomorphs and Yautja, even some Star Wars aliens (including Gamorrean and, yes, even Yoda's species), so I've got a good set of scenarios I can go into, with this. What would you guys like to see, of me, on this front?
