Intuos Pen lag

Anybody else have this problem where you draw sketch lines on your tablet and there is this noticeable lag in the time you draw the line and one appears on your screen?

If so, anybody know a permanent fix? Because I've followed several complicated fixes and none of them have proven permanent. Any time I open SAI this happens.

I've gotten that from mine at times.

It seems to come and go at it's leisure. Like a cat.

I never knew what to do about it, except just work around it the best I can.

Are you sure it's not just that your CPU is overloaded in general at that time?

As a tablet programmer myself, I know it can be a sign that the process can't process tablet events as fast as they are being generated (typically 100 to 200 times a second). Background processes, as can the brush being used in some cases - the more it has to do, the harder it is to meet the limit.

You might be able to make it work better by having your art program run at a higher priority. You can adjust this in Task Manager - select the program, right-click, go to details, right-click the process, set priority to above normal (or failing that, high).

thanks for the advice. I've also upgraded my RAM (I only had 4 gigs, go figure), upgraded to a solid state drive and I'll try your suggestion next :3

Those are both good ideas, too! 4GB can be quite restricting, especially  now that we're onto 4K UHD image sizes - and if you do need to swap stuff out of RAM, that'll take time as well, and an SSD will do it faster.

Well, I'm pushing 16gb for RAM now, and things are running much smoother.
