Went to the Doctor

Well I went to see my new gastrointestinal guy Dr. Whitt the other day. Nice guy. He gave me a cursory examination and was doubtful I had an obstruction as my other doctor, Jim, has suspected. He said I just needed to be more physically active, eat more fruits and cut down on my fiber intact, which means no more Metamucil and fiber gummies. Fine with me.

If I don't improve by then he says come back and they'll examine me further.

My apologies if this is TMI for many of my watchers but this has really been bugging me and I find it helps me cope to get stuff like this out in the open, and I've at least avoided being too detailed about it. Anyway I go back and see Dr. Whitt in a few months, although he said if it gets really bad, I can make an earlier appointment as an emergency kind of thing, which is very nice.

On the way home we stopped off at Barnes & Noble where I got the Criterion DVD of Wings of Desire AKA Der Himmel über Berlin ("The Heavens Over Berlin"), the German film that City of Angels is a remake of. I've wanted to see it for a while. Here's hoping it has a happier ending than the Nicholas Cage movie.

Then we headed off to the Wal-Mart for grocery shopping and I saw two copies of the 2011 Thing prequel for sale near the front for only $19. I figured what the hell? I now regret that purchase. The movie was beyond idiotic, failing not only as a prequel to the 1982 movie but failing as a movie unto itself, which is an amazing feat. It was okay as a generic creature feature I guess but was just overflowing with so much stupid I could barely believe it. Apologies to anyone who actually liked it, but I didn't like it much.
