Now comes the boring part. We have been two days with no power, no air conditioner, no internet… Basically I have the life a man a century ago would consider totally normal and even comfortable. I still have inner plumbing and running water with would make me privileged above me above most people in past ages.
Yet everyone around me is going batshit about not been surrounded by ubiquitous entertaining noise. It makes you ponder how dependant our species have become of electric toys. Yes, of course I miss the Internet. Posting here is the first thing I’m doing since my cell phone service returned.
And yeah, sleeping in this heat sucks.
P.S. the power just came back. I have computer and I can sleep with air conditioner.
I know what you mean. I can survive without the internet or TV but, holy shit, I couldn't survive without air conditioning. And I've been to Florida enough times to know how nasty hot and humid it gets.
Always funny when I go camping with new people/friends in a no cell service area for a few days, the first days is always spent with them freaking out about getting no cell service while I'm having fun in nature. Though I usually go camping in October or February, because of the AC thing. lol
Hell, your entertainment can be watching people freak out without their precious google and facebook.. ^_^
