Months ago I got tired of going to interview after interview after interview for a job position and being told that "...unless you can add to this company/organization, there's nothing here for you." Worst was my headhunter and his company saying, "We'll back you up if you have an idea you can springboard from. Just tell you need and get the funding and we will help you with the idea..."
I did some soul searching to fight off some doubt and pain, and get this going, writing down plans and how it is supposed to work. I submitted this to a few friends in high places (Local and State Government agencies including State Senate). And I got back a letter stating that "We love your idea... Blah, Blah, Blah... We can give you up to a couple million dollars to invoke your plan. We just need a budget proposal and proof you can get it running (within a certain amount of time)..."
So with this letter, I took it to my headhunter and his company and asked for the help they were stating they would give.
My headhunter and his company have gotten stupid...
"You got the money? HOW?!!!"
("The money is in waiting until I can prove it by starting it.")
"BUT?!!! This Is Not Possible?!!"
"$2Million for just asking? No Fucking WAY!"
"This can not be done!"
"THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE!"
("OK, then I'll just take this someplace else that can help.")
"WAIT A MINUTE!!! We Need To Have A Meeting About This!"
("We already had 6 meetings and in all 6 meetings you said that you and the company would help if I got the money. Now I got in written promise for that money if I can show that it can be done. All I need is space and staffing. What's the problem?")
"We can meet on Thursday to discuss details."
(I got up and left the (today's) meeting.)

What the Fuck?!!
If I have an idea, I'm going to see if people like it and go with it as far as I can take it. If I can get funding for such an idea, I will chase it. If I get the funding, I will share it with those who helped out. All the Tax Liability fall on my lap, it is me that goes to jail if the money disappears. So what's the problem? Doesn't anyone want a slice of this pie?
It makes no sense to me.
