if its an issue about the toenail cutting into the toe at the sides, it might come back! my friend dealt with it for YEARS until he just had the toenail removed permanently, hes been fine ever since
KevinSnowpaw

they allied a chemical to prevent that.

they did that to him too, 3 times he went back but it kept happening, so he opted for complete removal, he now has a naked and very curious looking big toe!

You can remove toenails permanently? Does the skin that used to be under it desensitize after that, or are you left with a really sensitive exposed patch?

Oh your brain will turn off ANY nerve ending eventually. That's why you don't scream in pain FOREVER after circumcision.. and why you lose 1/3 of the functional nerves in your cock. But toenails are pretty resilient. As a kid I chopped off my left big toenail in an accident and they managed to put it back together... mostly because the doctor was bored and wanted to see if he COULD. He succeeded and I have a toenail.

Yea the cut them off and burn out the nail bed. It's a method of last resort for people who keep getting ingrown nails or majorly messed up nails. Been thinking of  having one of mine done Dr. say it's the only way to permanently fix the problem.

In grown toe nail huh? Had that fixed on my foot. That was easily the 2nd most painful thing ive had done (The needle to GIVE the Novocaine hurt, not when it wore off though). The worst was still a foot thing though. Except add another 5 needles to that one.
KevinSnowpaw
6 years, 7 months ago
oh god the damn needles hurt WAY more then im used to im not normaly that squimish about needles holy shit that stung!
Ultratails42

I have become okay with normals needles. Like. In the arm for blood or such. Thats fine. But the foot is REALLY sensitive and touch, so they have to be a bit more rough. I once got a large piece of wood stuck in my foot and they had to put six needles of Novocaine into my foot around the area and had to wiggle them to spread it. That is the most painful thing ive ever felt in my entire life.

I hate needles so much, last few cavities and a crown, I skipped the Novocain.

Ive gotten used to needles in the mouth too. Have had a lot of fillings and a few teeth pulled.

Also some dentists use a numbing gel now which is nice. They just spread it with a q-tip and you don't even feel the needle.

I used just that gel on my crown, but that's it.  I always could still feel it, and I'd rather skip the shot.

Well as long as you're not bleeding... consider drinking. Not a LOT and not if you're on any other pain meds, but a bit of booze is great for taking pain out of your extremities.
KevinSnowpaw

i took two advill but i might change it to super extra mega ultra stringth tylanol (whatever i can get OTC) i have a bottle of wine but yeah i dont think that will help much and i shouldent mix it with the pain meds XD
MarcusKoopa
6 years, 7 months ago
*laughs* Well it only really kicks your ass if you mix it with PRESCRIPTION pain meds... like.. you NEVER mix alcohol and opiates. You will wake up sobbing and begging for death... if you wake up. But wine and over the counters? Pffft... that's what I do on particularly rough tuesdays.
CubSnuffer

Do NOT mix any OTCs that contain paracetamol/acetaminophen (name depends on which side of Atlantic you are) with alcohol. Ibuprofen, ketoprofen, aspirin are all ok (though may irritate your stomach more than usual), but paracetamol can kill you. It is metabolized in the liver via the same pathway as alcohol and alcohol completely saturates it increasing the liver toxicity of paracetamol tenfold.

.... I'm so sorry.. I have to say this because of your name... But do you know that because of EXPERIENCE? *snickers* In all reality though... We just call that Aspirin. No one takes it except old people with heart conditions, babies, and dogs.
KevinSnowpaw

Thanks for the warning i've never mixed drugs of any kind with alcohol OTC or otherwise. it's super rough on your liver to do that and just generaly a  bad idea.

Ingrown toenails can happen.

Ahh yes, I've had ingrown toenails too. Dx
Luckily, when I was a teen, they gave me special medication for it and it went away! I guess everyone doesn't get as lucky...

Oh but you didn't follow the directions.  You're supposed to push the cotton ball under the toenail and slowly after days move it over..  NOT!

four and a half years as a teen I limped many days do to ingrown on both of my big toes.  If it wasn't the right it was the left, and yes several times I took a pair of toenail clippers and scissors and DUG one out cutting it back half way and bleeding all over.  Yes that shit hurts like HELL.

But tell me...  Have you ever stubbed your toe when it's inflamed and ingrown?  Did that once was crying on the floor for more than a half hour.  One of the worst experiences in my life followed up by the next morning, I woke up and my foot was throbbing and in serious pain.  I touched the scab where the toenail was and I kid you not puss shot out a good 6 inches across the bed before it started bleeding like crazy.  Funny part it felt so good as the pressure released.

Moral of the story... Don't have ingrown toenails and if you do never hit the corner of the dinning room table with your big toe.
