So it seems that rather than actually be a traditional anime, the Splatoon anime's being portrayed as more of an animated storybook for their Manga series. Interesting decision.
Also curious that they started with the Rider chapter and not the actual first one. Oh, well.
Thus far only a Japanese version is available. I'm guessing any English dubs won't come out until the official English version of the manga comes out.
