ha, like I want MY name associate with you anymore. whatever are your reasons, I can't judge your health and I don't want to, but that has nothing to do with it in the end and it's simply wrong what you wanted us to do. you were always nice and a great artist but it definitely was a wrong move

My sentiments exactly. I was fortunate enough to get a partial message from an earlier journal that was later deleted before I could read the full version or any of the comments. But from what I've gathered, Teekay fears she may be dying, and this has caused her to reassess her priorities.

From context, I figured out she must have demanded the removal of all her art from the galleries of her commissioners, but after meeting with considerable opposition, decided to let the art remain. As a compromise she instead requested that her name be removed from the aforementioned art. I can't really say why this was a priority, because I missed just about everything leading up to it.

I honestly wish she had left up the earlier journal, or simply recapped it in the more recent one so that people could better understand her situation, but I suppose I'll just have to piece things together from eyewitness accounts.

To everyone getting pissed off about this, you really have no right.
The original request was not poorly worded nor was it harsh on any of you. Simply not wanting to be associated with another website is not a crime. And taking down one or two pieces of art from ONE artist is not the end of the world if you have a gallery full of your characters.

You still have it for private use, complaining, throwing tantrums and attacking TK or any artist who makes a similar request isn't making you look too bright.

Why does it kill you all so much to lose one piece of art when there are several other artists you could get your rocks off to?
The reactions seen here make it seem like you're all losing your shit because you want her to stay.

This isn't kindergarten. Regardless if you consider yourself a babyfur, cub or whatever the fuck, you should know better. You're all adults SOMEWHERE.

The problem people are having is they didn't pay for private use. They didn't get a commission with the knowledge that the artist could retroactively, without notice, force customers who've paid for the artwork to be done in the first place to take them down even though it's contents are of their own intellectual property (their character). The moment money changed hands the commonly understood deal was sealed. Generally speaking commissioners don't legally own the artwork but they're given the right to post the art they paid for up where they wish to share it with their friends. That's the commonly understood agreement, and even that's the extremely artist-favored version.

So if a commissioner literally has zero rights (and you're apparently 100% okay with this) when they commission art from an artist... what are they paying for? Because I'm certain they don't think they're just paying for private-use only artwork.

I don't understand about arrogant and elitist but if an artist doesn't agree with a particular site and doesn't want their work displayed there (and they specify so in the agreement) I'd expect that agreement to be followed

because "a lot of people" do it another way isn't a good argument

I read that TOS after someone complained to me about it and while it seemed a bit over-the-top to me, it was pretty clear what it meant... so despite the TOS being somewhat unreasonable, that's no excuse to break an argument once it's made. :/ That's like deciding the price is unreasonable, so only paying half as much because other artists have lower prices.

When I purchased my artwork from TK it was on the condition that I would be able to post it here on IB. Turning around later and suddenly telling me to take it down is like saying "thanks for you money, I'm going back on my word now so tough shit."

I would never have commissioned her if I wasn't going to be able to post it here. Plain and simple. What she tried to do was total and complete bullshit. Everyone who purchased from her under these conditions has EVERY right to be pissed off.

I'm sorry that some have hurt you , TeeKay, Maybe in time you will return and give folks another chance. Humans can be cruel at times to each other, but for the most part not everyone is like that. people feel entitled a lot in this fandom and don't really respect artists at all except as fetish machines

someone told me about your "oppressive" TOS or whatever; I read it and was like... seems fair. If you don't like it don't commission her. You don't buy a hamburger from a place that sells hamburgers and complain that it isn't chicken wings.

Lame that a bunch of butthurt people who can't read chased you off of the internet. Hope you find your way back eventually.

best wasy to say it hatters gonna hate. TK u shouldnt let people upset u because they get pissy tht u wont do what they want. Everyone is entitled to freedoms. Speech,Religion,What they do, yadda yadda. Even athiest have a voice. Therefore artist have a voice. If u dont want to be associated with an art piece that u had a change of heart over than u deserve to be respected for tht choice.
