Month late - BABY IS HERE

by

Finally, right? My nine month prison sentence has finally come to a close.
On Thursday the 22nd Birmingham had a tornado outbreak, a few touched down and caused minor structure damage, and later that night I started having slightly painful contractions about 2 hours apart from each other, but they didn't bother much so I went about my business. I went to my obgyn appointment on Friday the 23rd, by then the contractions were about a half hour apart, and growing in intensity. They sent me to the ER to be observed for an hour. They confirmed I was having contractions, but I was not in true labor, and I had not dilated anymore then what my OB had confirmed (almost 2cm), so they sent me home. From that morning until midnight, the contractions slowly got more intense, more frequent, and I started showing signs of active labor. Finally I went back to the hospital, and the nurse checked me after a few minutes on the monitor and about had a heart attack. I was at 7 centimeters, and was very much in labor. I got to my room, and they already had everything set up. I got my epidural at about 2am, and everything was right in the world. I was able to relax finally, and I dilated to a nine by 4am, and they broke my water. I was ten centimeters by 5/5:30am, and it was time to start pushing. After that things are a bit of a blur between the medication and 'oh god I'm about to have a baby', and I did!
On June 24th at 8:27am I delivered my daughter via vaginal delivery with Sleek, Edward Sebastian, and Heize by my side. Little one was born at 39weeks, and three days gestation. Exactly 7 pounds at birth. The moment she was finally pushed out and put on my chest is frozen in my mind forever. I was in shock (the good kind, not the about to die kind), and Sleek got to cut her cord. I had to be put on oxygen for a majority of my pushing process, but that was the only complication. With that, I am now a proud, happy, and amazingly high spirited parent. We are home now, and slowly we're all getting to know each other.

That's it for the updates :P Happy birthday Sleek, you have a daughter now!!

One of the many things a man will never know.
He takes 9 minutes to create a life, and she takes 9 months to create it.
Congratulations, and I hope they aren't too much trouble for you!
