It's no big surprise that in general I hate the concept of Patreon for many reasons. Since some time now I've noticed some artists that really look fine and decent using it in a different manner than the average guy that just censors their stuff and/or watermarks them like jerks just for people to pay up : Having some bonus comic locked in a reward tier.
The irritating part about that is how I seem to be the only one that is bothered by these kind of people, but really that shouldn't be too surprizing in a fandom where people really only care for porn and smut intake flow than good behavior from artists. It is a little funny how they all seem to be so against Nintendo shutting down free fan games, but give zero shit to people that merchandize other people's intellectual property, completely fine with getting crapped down stuff released two months later.
The issue I had with these two people doing is, they are not as bad as every other Patreon people such as the vast majority that censors everything to get you to pay up, or cases like Diives with absolutely everything crapped down to Windows 98's standard size resolution, with all the Patreon stuff - which is like 99% of the stuff - crapped with watermarks on top of a two months paywall. Their galleries look really fine, with no visible Patreon bullshit to speak of. That made the decision for me to label them as horrible behavior or not more difficult, but in the end, someone timewalling an entire comic with the public release crapped down in size, and someone else having the entire Patreon comic not available at all, were enough for me to just have them submission blocked. Having one of them actually sell/preorder the comics for those, "unfortunate" non-Patreon people really didn't give me any pity for them at all too.
I am not against Patreon, at least not entirely. I would be perfectly fine with for instance, a bonus comic one month in advance for people that are supporting in Patreon, if the non-Patreon people get the chance to see it with original resolution - or at least a decent size, not something like Diives who resizes everything to 600px maximum - without crappy Patreon watermarks framing each page or even more disgusting, having them as freaking background, like having the RELEASED term just to make that middle finger to non-Patreon people even longer. But in this world of people that can't bother to have an actual job properly or taking the easy way out by making money behind the back of someone else's brand, I can't imagine that happen any time soon.
Anyway, I shouldn't get mad when I see that happen, but I really can't help it. For some, weird reason, I take that as a huge offense when I see some artist shitting on their fans like that while they're generating money off of someone else's intellectual property. I should be disgusted by that of course, but not get mad to the point I don't want to draw for people anymore. That's something I need to work more on. Lack of motivation overall, seeing everyone being so insecure and feeling like everyone is just leaving me don't help much however, but I should come with something soon.

I still hate Patreon and people that use it and crap on non-Patreon people even if they seem alright at first and I'm also going to submission block those people that have any sort of "Patreon only Bonus Comic"
