To play it safe: If there is nudity, or the genitals, ass, or female breasts are nakedly shown, lasciviously exhibited, or emphasized even if clothed, the image is adult or NSFW.

If she's naked and has breasts, sure. The guideline says 'exposing breasts', no? o_o
Although an actual Barbie doll would presumably be forbidden as general photography.

If it's Adult, it probably wouldn't be allowed at all, as it's likely to be a sexual situation.
(Well, you could beat her to death. That'd be OK as Adult, with the proper keywords. But no sex.)

I thought that nipples were a nono,and labia,a crack or a line was a nono.I was wrong.Just bumps in the areas make it adult,even if it's a bunny or a mouse.I wonder why they don't put the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue in the "NSFW" category.

Look at it this way: I don't think the site's owners are prudes, but it may be that they're trying to keep their asses covered legally. They do a good job of keeping Inkbunny under the radar so that we have a place to post whatever we want here. FurAffinity was forced by their advertising partners to enact a cub ban. If we don't want that here, then it's in everyone's best interest to make sure that anyone without a membership can't see anything that might get the site in trouble.

For the record, it's possible for non-members to see Mature or even Adult work as long as the poster has chosen to show it to guests, and the guest adjusts their allowed ratings accordingly. That's the guest's choice, of course, and they get a clear warning before doing it.

I just think that in example,my pic of Butterbear.She's not naked she walks around like that in a Disney cartoon!Just adding some shading to suggest she has a mons is not going to shatter anyone's mind.I understand CYA but that is ludicrous.

Unclothed bumps, or nipples showing through clothes, would probably make it Mature.
This picture is Adult due to genital manipulation, a sexual theme (also seems to be aroused).
The species is irrelevant. This is a furry art site, after all - characters are expected to have fur.

Where exactly do you see the genitals being manipulated?I put the skeletal hand there as a censorship device!It reprises the Halloween episode of "The Amazing World of Gumball"And cartoon characters have paint,not fur.They play with it on Gumball,where his father is told that he's "bald" in spite of supposedly being covered in pink fur.

I kind of have to agree, it looks pretty lewd. Maybe you didn't intend it, but it's the reception, not the intention, that matters most when you're assigning mature labels.
Realistically I don't think you're losing out on a single viewer with this move.

I made the mistake of taking the ratings instructions too literally.There is no genitalia showing(her dad has bigger boobs)nudity, you can see more of her in "The Check",arousal I took to mean engorgement of the genitalia not blushing and comedically lolling her tongue.The dead grab her in the Halloween episode along with Darwin and Gumball.While she has more anatomy than in the cartoon it still is a cartoon character.

The skeleton is clearly pushing against and squeezing around Anais' genital area. They're held by other arms, are blushing and their tongue is lolling out. It falls under the description of "erotic imagery, sexual activity or arousal" - personally I'd call it all three.

Mature is for "tasteful, non-aroused nude". This is porn. And that's fine. We're glad to host it. But it needs an Adult rating.

For anyone willing,you can perform a simple experiment.Get a teddy bear or similar plush toy.Place your fingertips in the same places as in my pic.Tell me if you are pushing or squeezing the area where genitals would be.

I found that rather than concentrate on medically accurate genitalia being stretched to the max you can get the same result without the explicit stuff .

I really love your art, and I also really hope you stick around. Even if you have to start marking your work as Mature, what matters is that you still have a home here to post your art, and you're very welcome and loved by a lot of people here. I'd hate to see another artist I like run off by the rules here.

Welcome! I hope they don't. If the rules keep getting more strict then people will start to leave and go elsewhere. And if that happens, then the whole site could go under, or just be pretty much abandoned. Not sure what they're trying to achieve with the site, but it's definitely upsetting.
