Between Mah and Dirty feel left out and now the Mud Brothers making a Po game. Don't see many feral games. How hard is dseg to make? Should I gibe it a try? why is everyone raving about metal type?
the dseg part of the dseg is easy to make. it all depends on what genre you fuse it with. rpgs are complex factually, numerically and sometimes need many objects, locations, characters, interactions, etc. as well as a lot of writing. adventure games are very similar. fighters, racers, shooters and other action games are a lot simpler but it requires collision physics which is a task unto itself. puzzle and arcade games are the simplest to make but the most difficult to balance difficulty against fun. adventure games lend to dsegs because of the focus on dialogue. action games they are really just cutscenes and they can be pretty annoying in arcade games when you just wanna play the game. metal is an adventure game type like rogue is an action game type. M.E.T.A.L stands for Mouth/Eyes/Trunk/Arms/Legs where Mouth is "Talk to" (someone in the room), Eyes is "Examine" (usually something in the room), Trunk is "Use on" (something you're carrying against something in the room or give it to someone), Arms is "Grab" (something in the room. to use it or put it in your inventory) and Legs is "Go to" (another room or place in the room). People prefer it because it's very simple and things are in distinct categories where it's easy to make something fit each function. might be difficult to make a feral type adventure game because of having to hold items to use, collect or give them. I'd like to see how you do it and overcome that obstacle. with ponies it gets rather difficult without the use of magic. That's why you don't see them using tools very often in the show. It's often off screen, something that doesn't need delicate movement or something that can be done by holding the item in their mouth. Garou could give you some pointers on that. She knows a few things about ferals.
