ok somebody from a church i drive by every time i go through town actually left a handful of chick comics laying around the waiting room at muh work. And ive toyed with the idea of collecting them. for the record i'm collecting hobbies, mainly *collecting* hobbies.
Anyways... back in january of 16 i visited my aunt in missouri for a few days on the way to florida and i left her house with a plastic shopping bag containing maybe 10 tracts from her church. for the record she's not an asshole or anything like that, just a serious christian. good musician too. her and my uncle go to retirement homes and the like and play old gospel tunes. pretty neat stuff.
fast forward or rewind a few months since i cant remember if thos was before or after the missouri thing but i pump some gas and lo and behold when i pit the pump back i find a copy of 'who's the real hater' leaning on the little bit of overhang on the panels or whatever.
(ok i guess in the greater scope of this ramble the missouri story is kind of irrelevant but) people leave these things out in the open in public spaces and private businesses for the sole purpose of someone finding them.
and they stamp them with the name and address of the church that ordered them.
i have come to the decision that i would like to prowl through the surrounding area, and other states if the opportunity presents itself, and gather info about local religious communities to hunt down any chick tracts that have been released into the wild. The goal being to gather a large variety of titles from as many different churches as possible with typically out of print/custom comics being of particular priority.
but no ordering from the website. that would kinda defeat the point of the hunting thing.
so... is chick tract hunting already a thing or did i just hypothetically invent a new hobby?
